alienjesus wrote: Zelda Master Quest is the very last game on my alphabet marathon, and was an awesome finale. I'd say the original ocarina of time is slightly better (due to more logical puzzles), but this was great too. However, its not really a master quest if you ask me. Most dungeons were just different rather than harder, with Jabu Jabu's Belly and the Water Temple in particular seeming a bit easier. The fire temple though, that had been made a lot more difficult! All in all,a great game (especially as a freebie with Wind Waker!).
The Water Temple wasn't made harder because Nintendo realized that it was insanely hard as it was in the original one. Every other level got it's difficulty raised, though. If I could find it at a decent price, I might jump on it and play it through.
Gaming accomplishments:
Nibbler (marathon): 251,169,160 / Nibbler (one life): 5,263,360 (WR)
Donkey Kong: 423,100 [L12-1] (150th place as of 2019-01-15)
Super Smash Bros. (N64): Ranked top 5 in Wisconsin from Q1 2016 to Q2 2017
Shrek SuperSlam: won largest tournament in game's history (Shrekfest 2018)

I'm doing some catch up on games I bought during my marathon, which i didnt have so much time to play before. I started with Donkey Kong '94, and I didn't regret it. Easily one of the best Game Boy titles I've played (a high honour indeed), I loved almost every moment of it, even though sometimes it made me rage hard.

Actually, not quite every moment....that final boss was VERY annoying. :x

Other games on my list to catch up on include Balloon Kid, Zelda: Link's Awakening, Scribblenauts, Lunar Knights, Picross DS, Advance Wars Dark Conflict, Luigi's Mansion, Wave Race Blue Storm and Wild Guns. No idea which one I'll go for next. That new professor layton game is mighty tempting too :D

i was able to pick up flying keio for cheap, relatively speaking; there is a "deep scratch" outside of the game data, but the seller assured it played fine. the whole cd is perfect, expect this tiny ass scratch. and i don't even think it is a scratch; it looks more like a crack on the underside of the disc. i just hope after repeat handling of taking in and out of system and case that it doesn't exacerbate it.

anyways, i was able to successful get through the whole game, on easy mode, without a problem. success! it works! overall, i thought the game was awesome; i really enjoyed the art, color, and music. the music has a 'feel good' vibe that fits the whole atmosphere well. even though it is a great game, i don't think i would recommend anybody to go out and drop 160ish dollars on it unless you are a "collector" of the sega cd; the game is pretty easy and i am sure you can use that 160ish dollars on better games/things.
if you took a shit, please put it back

Trax is sort of a battle-tank cute-em-up by Hal Labs. It's way too short, but novel and fun while it lasts.

Professor Layton & The Lost Future DS *NEW*
Balloon Kid Game Boy *NEW*

Total: 58

Professor Layton and the Lost Future was brilliant, but then I expected it to be, having loved every minute of the others in the series. This one was probably my favourite, and I completed it 100% in the 3 days I owned it XD. I don't know what it is about Layton. The stories are ridiculous (but fun) and the puzzles can be irritating, yet the package as a whole is always amazingly addictive and enjoyable to me.

Balloon Kid was pretty challenging. The game throws lives at you early on, but steals them back rather quickly in the last few levels. It's 8 levels long and takes about 1 hour to play through on average. I've heard mixed reviews of this game, and while it's not as immediately replayable as titles like Super Mario Land and Kirbys Dream Land, I enjoyed my time with it, and I'd recommend it for any fans of Balloon Fight. It also has the multiplayer battle mode and balloon trip mode from the NES original in addition to the main story mode!

I'm working through Link's Awakening DX atm, and I plan to play Luigi's Mansion for Halloween, so I'll probably have those up next time I post.

@alienjesus - I just bought Donkey Kong '94 from eBay, and Balloon Kid is on my want list now. Even though you didn't directly recommend them, thanks for posting your thoughts and piquing my interest! :)

No problem! :)

This is actually one of my favorite topics to check up on. It's interesting to see what types of games other people here are playing. Plus, I get some awesome game recommendations as well!
