The smart guys like Atlus & Co I see keeping things A-OK and still leaving things region free.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Sony never had any contract with them.EvilRyu2099 wrote:From what I heard, it was sony that didn't want to renew the contract with cave.. It's if Cave, Treasure or the other companies who own said games care about bringing them over to the PS3.
Cave used to put out their software on all manner of console, Saturn and PS1. Later on the PS2 became the logical choice because in Japan it was a complete phenomenon and utterly crushed everything there last gen like you wouldn't believe. For example, you know how big it was here in the US? Now double, no TRIPLE that in Japan and you have a pretty close picture of it.
Also, while Sony makes more money in terms of total untaxed revenue that's because of how large thy are after tax and coupled with R&D and spreading it all around they make barely enough to pay everyone and manufacture more product. Microsoft still has the most liquid burnable "do whatever with it" cash of any company on the planet last time I checked. After all MS did spend over $7 billion on the entire Xbox line and STILL hasn't ever turned a profit on it.
It's the widely known but purposely niche people like CAVE with their superiority complexes that get me scared.
