Really? I've been using my GC controllers for years with almost no sign of wear or tear. What part of the controller starts to go first?General_Norris wrote:The reason why GC controllers are hard to find is because you need them if you are going to play Smash Bros. Why is the Gamecube cheaper than N64/SNES/NES?

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Agree, a solid controller. The compatibility to the Wii is why they are scarce.Flake wrote:Really? I've been using my GC controllers for years with almost no sign of wear or tear. Nono, Smash Bros is why they're scarce.CRTGAMER wrote:Agree, a solid controller. The compatibility to the Wii is why they are scarce.Flake wrote:Really? I have literally seen people completely use up a BRAND NEW controller on a Smash Bros match before; and by used up I mean the analog stick was fried in the end. "Hardcore" Smash Bros players are some of the biggest dicks in the gaming world and can't seem to keep from ramming their face into the controller long enough to actually play the game without smashing buttons wildly.
Also, Nintendo still makes Gamecube controllers in white to match the Wii. They're available on Amazon in the US and UK for about $20-$29 new and everywhere in retail shops in Japan.
Also these white Gamecube controllers have a longer cable than the insanely short original Gamecube controllers.

Oh, Smash Bros. Tourney Tards. I've heard about them. I thought that 'the fun' was all they ruined. Now I have one more reason to hate.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:I have literally seen people completely use up a BRAND NEW controller on a Smash Bros match before; and by used up I mean the analog stick was fried in the end. Yup, I've never seen a person I hate more than a Smash Bros. tourneyfag.Flake wrote:Oh, Smash Bros. Tourney Tards. I've heard about them. I thought that 'the fun' was all they ruined. For example the first time I EVER played Smash Bros Melee was about a yer and a half ago. The guy I was playing against was a seasoned player but we were just playing a match for fun and he said he'd help me out and coach me into it.
Three seconds into the match he fucking demolished me and came back with the "Fuck you noob!" to my face. I proceeded to feed him his controller, but his was already beat to hell anyway so no loss.....
Also, these are the newer white controllers still in production that I'm talking about:

Re: Why is the Gamecube cheaper than N64/SNES/NES?
So basically the only differences between the $30 White controller on Amazon and $25 Platinum controller on Nintendo's site is cord length and color?
I guess if you really need the extra length, but Wavebirds are about $30 now.
