How To Update Gamecube Action Replay
I have an old version of Action Replay for the Gamecube that doesn't have the codes for some games that I want to mess around with. I looked online for some tutorials, but have found nothing that has worked. Is there any way to get the latest updated code list [1.15] for GC AR, and how to install it? I saw that there was an Update function in the AR options menu, but even with an ethernet cable plugged in, it does nothing.
Re: How To Update Gamecube Action Replay
A precaution first.
1. Gamecube code entry Action Replays need the AR GC memory card to run.
2. The AR GC Memory card is not as reliable as a regular GC memory card.
3. That AR save file can be backed up easily on any GC memory card.
Okay that said, backup the AR file on a couple of your memory cards first. Put that AR card away for safe keeping. This way your Action Replay will continue to work.
The easiest way to get the latest version is to google the AR save file and download it. You can go the SD Gecko route to transfer the save file to a regular memory card that doesn't have an older AR file on it. Keep the original older AR file in case of a bad copy. Most importantly don't delete that original file off the AR brand memory card, I wouldn't even put game saves on it.
Curiosity, what game are you trying to find codes for?
