Do you buy "limited edition" games?

Personally I never find anything that intrigues me with most of these. I think if I was going to actually purchase a "boxed" or "limited edition" I want something that people that buy the regular edition can't get. Such as perhaps a "signed" copy of the game, from the voice actors or extra level that is NOT DLC and is only exclusive to that "limited" edition. What are people's thoughts on this.

If I had the money, I would probably buy LEs. The fact that I don't is the limiting factor.

It's neat to own a copy of a game that wasn't mass-produced/in small quantity.

I don't generally like special editions, limited editions, etc. They typically have bad or inconvenient packaging, crappy cases for your game and the extras are usually useless, crap items that no one would care about if they didn't see them as part of a special edtion. I feel like special editions are a waste of money.

I make exceptions for some games, like for the great limited edition Death Smiles, but that was the only version of the game there is. Plus, the price was good and it was actually a pretty decent package compared to other special editions

Generally speaking though, I just want the regular, standard version of a game. Don't give me greatest hits, players choice or special/limited editions. Standard edition only thank you very much

Depends on what the game has. The Metroid Prime collection was worth the purchase but some others just to get a different box and some pictures is not.

Funny thing about Deathsmiles is that I believe they didnt even come out with a standard version, only the limited. Not very limited as people think. As for limited versions of games, I buy them all the times when I can.

Every so often I've bought one where I felt the extras were tangible. If it's just some "exclusive" DLC, a shitty soundtrack "selection" and "artbook", nah. The packaging is inconvenient, and it's just a way of trying to make me pay more for an already overpriced game.

Barely any of these so called "limited" editions contain anything worth paying extra for.

Generally, I think limited edition games are stupid. I get frustrated trying to fit some oversized and awkwardly shaped package into my existing collection, I couldn't care less about some stupid folded poster that I wouldn't hang on my wall if you paid me, and I really have no need for the Call of Duty night vision goggles or whatever other Happy Meal toy comes inside the limited edition jumbo box.

HOWEVER, all of that goes out the window when we are talking about a new Shin Megami Tensei game. It's like I go stupid or something whenever Atlus releases a new game. I will spend hours gazing at all the pictures in my new art book, I'll listen to the soundtrack on repeat for days, and I hug and squeeze my adorable new little plushie toy and find a nice place to properly display it on my desk. I don't know why I like their extras so much more, but somehow I feel it's almost part of the experience of an Atlus game. I get so excited about their releases that the limited edition bonuses manage to get me even more excited and I'm suddenly feeling like a kid at Christmas again.

While in the past I was more interested in them, nowadays I don't care as much for special editions. In certain cases I don't mind them, such as Mortal Kombat Armageddon coming in a sturdy metal tin.

That said, I did buy the special edition of Fallout 3 for the PC. I needed a lunchbox.
