phone 7 = money well spent. The smartphone market has exploded, and it could become way bigger in the future, as we develop new UIs to make more stuff possible with a touch screen.

Kinect = money better spent on trading cards (YGO abridged jk). Seriously this is going to bomb. I'd bet 1.000.000€ on it

I'd take that bet. Move is already selling like hotcakes, and I expect this will do similar business. Never underestimate "casual gamers"!

I think Windows Phone 7 won't do so well. The selection of smartphone OSs is pretty big; [iOS, Android, WebOS, Symbian, MeeGo, Bada, Blackberry, and some other assorted ones] so Microsoft will have to work really hard to stand a chance. The reason Windows phone succeeded initially was because of the need for a business phone. Blackberry has since claimed that title, but has been lagging behind in the smartphone race. Now, you would assume that they would use this as their chance to position themselves as a go-to business smartphone OS, but instead, they seem to be going for the significantly more risky route of taking on Apple and Google as a multimedia phone OS. This won't end well.

It is selling like hotcakes only in Europe. The continent has a great love for play station accessories (see eye toy, sing star). Xbox 360 is non existent in main land Europe, and americans aren't so big on casual gaming. That is why I think it will bomb.

Doesn't seem right.
So wrong, so very wrong. I used to play Battletech quite a bit (long ago) and I thought Steel Battalion would be cool but I could never justify the cost (despite that about 15 games of Battletech would have let me play at home and that the Xbox wasn't even out then). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleTech_Centers
There's no way with all the laggy demo videos I've seen can that camera perfectly replicate that controller.

There are a few reasons i'll never buy a Move or Kinect.

1- I already have ENOUGH peripherals dangling from my tv (wii sensor is MORE than i'd ever want on top of my tv)

2- I never was the target demographic for eye toy, why should i be for kinect? Welcome to 2003 Microsoft and welcome to 2006 (wii launch) ps3.

3-People still want to stand up and prance about in front of the tv to play games? I don't! I want precise and complex controls and I want to be able to sit down.

There's more but i've ranted enough.

Move sells one million in the US

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010- ... nough-move

Add to that the 1.5 million in Europe, and they have 1/4 the dreamcast's install base. And now I am sad (even though I never owned a Dreamcast, it is my third favorite console I've never had)

Given how much they spend trying to seize the market I doubt they will ever recoup the money, specially considering how much money they burnt with the consoles themselves.

The console business is a money sink by Sony and Microsft. Nintendo being able to compete, and win, says a lot.

The sad reality is the majority of consumers are fucking idiots and no matter how dumb/bad your product is, a lot of people will buy it.

Kinect/Move and the music industry are prefect examples of this. Enough said.
