I don't have a Wii, but I would not hesitate to say Zelda 3 and Metroid 3 are two of my all-time faves. Great balance of challenging gameplay with just the right amount of narrative. Those two will keep you busy (and happy) for countless hours.

Allow me to second Shining Force. I've been playing it on my CDX and it's pretty nifty. They say 2 is the better one if you don't want to play through them both.
