Incredibly Weird N64 Cart

Post by lisalover1 »

I saw an exceptionally weird Nintendo 64 cartridge a couple months back at Video Games New York, but I forgot to take a picture of it. It was the same shape as a normal N64 cart, except it was twice as tall. It had the label for the game Glover, and was to normal size. It didn't have any ports in the back, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't a custom flashcart case. What could it be?

I wonder if it was an import multi-game pirate cart or maybe part of Disk Doctor?

Sound like it might be the RAMBUS Cart for the 64DD more than likely.

Ah neat, I never knew the devcarts were actually official Ninty flashcarts.

That's the one; I guess it was just a flashcart, after all.

Not just a flash cart, but probably a development cart.

Hope you didn't let it go cheap.

If you read the Atariage link, the N64 developer the chimes in and posts a picture describes it at a developer flash test cart.

Yeah, I know it's what they used for N64 development. With NES and SNES, most developers got either custom NON-Mask ROM boards, or bought a game with their right board and gutted it out and made their cart...

That reminds me.....I need to make a SNROM to SUROM board now....Lets go find some parts! :P

Wow, that's STILL there? I first saw that there almost two years ago. I kind of want it and I don't know why.
