I will stick with my old console 1080i its enough for me I'm not a video perfection freak. But I thought to bring it up just to let you now. And my first impression $90 fro that thing.... I don't think so. In fact Microsoft should be giving this free to us who have first model xbox.
hehe don't you think

I don't know I have issues with this thing...
the XBOX 360 will pump out 1080p on the component line... just not for the HD-DVD add on (which I find odd... it turns out it has something to do with some bullshit rules put up by the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray bastards pretending they are only allowed to do it via HDMI or some crap... fuck them).
Anyways, the XBOX360 stops the 1080p of HD-DVD prior to the output signalling... so yanking it from it could only be done from the VGA (as there is NO digital output of video on the connector... none whatsoever, if there was you'd just need to wire up your own cable instead of buying a 90 dollar piece of garbage)
so this thing does some type of conversion step.
issues with this? YES!
games natively in 1080p and pumped out the component or VGA pins at this resolution with have to be converted... and this conversion step adds in quality loss. Unless this little bastard converts better then your digital display, you're better off just using the component or VGA pins.
Main reason I see an issue with this conversion... it doesn't appear to have an external powersupply, it must be utilizing the power pins on the video port which isn't very much. I highly doubt this TINY little thing can handle all that power. Effectively it's a heap of garbage.
Stick with your component unless you are just DIEING for 1080p HD-DVDs. And in that case, most HDTVs that are 1080p have some VGA input, just use that instead!

I knew you were gonna make a technical explanation about that
Thanks!!
On another note I ain't gonna support microsoft no more.
Why?
My 360 died on me last night!!!!!! (no caps lock I'm more disappointed or depress right now) I got guitar hero from my wife for christmas and my best friend gave me another guitar so Ive been playing like 4 hours or less since I work I cant play more hours. So last night finished up Welcome to the Jungle and the 360 just freeze up. I turn it off turn it back on and tried to play the disc and BAM!!!! 3 red lights. At least Microsoft service center has got better I didn't had to wait. The time I called them was at 8:00 P.M. my time its 7 on Orlando and they picked up on the first ring, took my information and send the 360. Still with all those positive things the part that dissapoints me is...
How many of you guys has their first nintendo or their first sega, genesis,cd, 32x, saturn or dreamcast. Hell even playstation 1 if I recall correctly that was the first gaming machine that gave troubles. Super Nintendo yellow on the top an all it refuses to die. This new machines just die in a year or so they don't make this things like they used to. Ok I get my 360 repaired or a refurbished one Whats really gonna happen? Eventually its gonna die on me again. So we gamers pay a hunk of money for something that its not gonna last a year in our shelves. BTW my 360 is in a well ventilated area and I always turn the air conditioner on at a temperature of 65 so as you can see heat was not a problem for him it just that its crap and into crap it turned.
Thats a small rant but I think it has logic in one way. I should stick with nintendo since my wii just doesn't gets any rest from my wife and nephews and it has more than a year and still alive and kicking without any problems.
Thanks!!

Like Kyuu has said, the newer 360s should be better but I guess its still to early to say for certain.
As for MS sending out refurbs/repaired 360s, I've also heard many people say that their refurbs die really quickly. Its just a joke how crappy the 360 is built.
I want to give the 360 one more chance before I give up on it. So I'm tempted to pick up a new falcon one from Gamestation who are selling arcade 360s for £150. That should also come with a HDMI port as well.
I guess the 360's legacy will be its red rings and its washing machine levels of loudness.

I'm telling I'm gonna give this one more go if it gets damaged I'm sticking with my wii. The PS3 is supposedly getting the blue ray drive damaged so thats not a good idea also.
