Role Playing Fighters that are NOT Dynasty/Samurai Warriors
Perhaps some of you know of a game called Virtua Quest for the Gamecube/PS2. I'm sure you ALL know of Dynasty and Samurai Warriors. Anyway, Virtua Quest was a mix of Platforming, Fighting, and Role Playing, which I really enjoyed. The only gripe I had with it was that there was not enough customization for the Main Character. My point is, are there any other games like this, but with customization aspects? As you probably guessed from the subject title, I am already aware of Samurai/Dynasty Warriors, so please don't mention any of them. You can mention games like this for ANY Console, I have pretty much all of them. You can also mention games from any Region, but if you mention a game that's only in Japanese Language, please be sure that there is some kind of Walkthrough for it before you mention it. Thank you.

Well the Sengoku Basara series are not Dynasty/Samurai Warriors. Though they might as well be

I am assuming you're not meaning all action rpgs' just ones that are close to fighting games. The Tales of series would be quite close. These are the only ones I can think of, most are fighting games with rpg elements:
The Bouncer PS2 - I own it but have not tried yet, its like $3 at gamestop
Crash 'n the Boys: Street Challenge NES- have not played this one yet, its a somewhat sequel to River ity Ransom
Draglade DS
Dragon Valor PS1- Lost of platforming and fighting
Flying Dragon N64 - This is a pretty cool figting simulator game, it also has an SD only sequel in Japan
Hybrid Heaven N64- This one is very close to Virtual Quest but slower
Legend of Legaia PS1- an Rpg with a weird fighting game battle mode
Legaia 2: Duel Saga PS2 - same as above
River City Ransom Nes/PC engine/X68000- do I need to explain this one, the sharp X6800 version looks the best
River City Ransom EX GBA - Remake
Tenkaichi Bushi Keru Nagūru Famicom
Tobal No.1 and 2 PS1
