Just played the demo on PS3. It's pretty great, feels like Sonic 2. The graphics are almost perfect, there's a few elements that kinda look like flash (his feet when running or when he turns into a ball). The music is AMAZING! I need the soundtrack now.

Yeah I just got done playing the PS3 demo and it is pretty damn awesome.. I am still torn whether to get the Wii or PS3 version however.. I hear the Wii version is pretty damn good in its own right..

The Wii version lets me taunt Sega by playing their flagship franchise on their oldest rival's system.EvilRyu2099 wrote:Yeah I just got done playing the PS3 demo and it is pretty damn awesome.. When i first heard SSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAA, i knew i was right at home at the title screen.
Incredibly fun game, i beat the first stage last night and doing the casino one when i get a chance after work today. All in all, great game.

On PS3, you'd be playing on the console of the brand that finally sank them. That's just too sad to think aboutMrPopo wrote:The Wii version lets me taunt Sega by playing their flagship franchise on their oldest rival's system.EvilRyu2099 wrote:Yeah I just got done playing the PS3 demo and it is pretty damn awesome.. I played the iPhone version for a bit last night and then again this morning. The controls are definitely lackluster. I don't know what I was expecting from the virtual d-pad, but its just too difficult to control Sonic in a way that makes the game enjoyable.

Tried the demo. yup the homing attack killed it for me. Will be buying it cause it is the best Sonic game since Sonic Advance, but not even nearly as good as Sonic 1-3&K or Sonic Advance 1.

I too just tried the demo, and was unhappy with the homing thing - who thought that was a good idea? Sonic also feels a little too "floaty" in his control and a little too large. I also wasn't able to see the special stage, even though I had about ~150 rings at the end of the level on my first playthrough. Is there something I have to do to trigger it, or is it just not in the demo?
Those criticisms aside, from the demo this seems like the best Sonic I've played since the Genesis days. Kudos to Sonic Team for getting it mostly right. Here's hoping they don't start introducing Tails and the other ridiculous characters that populate Sonic's world, introducing story elements, or ruining anything else in the good foundation they have here.

I still consider Sony to be a young upstart.flamepanther wrote:On PS3, you'd be playing on the console of the brand that finally sank them.
