I have the Driving Force GT. By far it's the best wheel I've ever used. It makes driving games so much more fun. The force feedback is great and can be really strong if you turn it up in the game. The pedals are also good. I use it on a carpeted floor and it has claws underneath so it doesn't move around. I clamp the wheel on my computer desk so it's at the right height. The wheel also looks more real than other racing controllers since it's perfectly round. I just wish they could make a real-life size wheel.
My only complaints are that there are wires everywhere. You have the power adapter that goes to the wheel, the usb cable that goes to the PS3, the cable that connects the wheel to the pedal. I guess there's no way around that.
The wheel is also pretty loud when you turn it.
Also, the PS button only works on GT5. For all other games you have to use a standard controller to access the home menu.
Yeah I hear the G25 is better but it's also a lot more expensive.

I have the Driving Force GT
It doesn´t work with lots of racing ps2 games though (played through a ps3)
Doesn´t work with Battle Gear 2 (FUKKK!)
doesn´t work well with Sega´s F355, it has a huge dead zone, not funny
But OK, I don´t have regrets, it probably has nothing to with the wheel, but more with $ony.
it´s okay, the wheel!
But indeed, you need a table and the tabvle can´t be too thick either
But those holds pictured by another member and an extra piece of wood will fix anything!

Btw i just ordered Initial D Extreme stage last week and it's on its way. I really hope it's a decent game. Does the wheel work with that?

I am going to get the G27. The GT Force is a great stick for the time it came out, but it's time for me to move on.

Extreme Stage is compatible with the G25 and the Driving Force, according to the box. The physics in the game are too slippery to enjoy with a wheel, in my opinion. I am working on a review for this game which will be available in the reviews section probably by Thursday or Friday.
Re: GT5 + Driving Force GT by Logitech.
I still prefer the Driving Force to the G25 and G27 (it looks 1000 times better), and aesthethics for the wheel are a big thing for me.hashiriya1 wrote:I am going to get the G27. The GT Force is a great stick for the time it came out, but it's time for me to move on.
I don't want to pay $400 on a wheel that looks like a $50 one. I'd rather have a great wheel that looks like it's beautiful too!
The only thing missing from the Driving force is the clutch pedal unfortunately!

Please let us know how you like the game in combination with the wheel.
I love it. You can really drift very precise with the wheel
(EDIT: sorry, I just now saw the double post

$400??! Wow, who paid $400 for a G27? I got mine for $193 shipped. I am keeping my GT Force for more arcadey games. Anyway, I am not buying it for aesthetics, I am buying it for feel. The force feedback motors are a lot stronger and it feels a lot more realistic. Also the G27 is a lot quieter. I am a bit of a purist since I autocross in real life, so i am just a little more picky when it comes to racing games and wheels. I need the clutch! Anyhoo, Extreme Stage is fun, enjoy the game!
