Sega Genesis displaying Black And White

So, I've tried my Genesis model 1 with both RF and AV going to a TV Tuner on one of my computers. Problem is, I'm getting a black and white picture, with vertical scanlines everywhere. It also looks like it's TRYING to display color but can't, especially if I wiggle the cable. The TV Tuner works perfectly fine with all of my other consoles except for my Genesis, and I've also tried my Genesis on a normal everyday TV and it worked perfectly fine every time.

Do you think there's any reason why my TV tuner just might not like my Genesis? The TV tuner is a Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture. Reason why I'm trying to use it is because my actual TV was hit by lightning and I can't afford another one quite yet.


EDIT: Well, after some searching I found out the problem's definitely the tuner. Here is a video of another guy having the same exact problem Anybody have any tips on how to get this thing to display right?

I don't enough about video signals to give you a technical answer. However, the easy solution is just use a emulator since you're going to be using it on your computer anyways.

I can understand that. I just highly doubt that the effort/money to get it working properly till you get a new tv is worth it when you could use an emulator for a few months instead. It's all up to your preference though

Hrm, well I do need a TV either way. I've got alot of consoles. Emulating Sega Saturn is annoying. Some games (games that I do play) will not work at all on emulator. My TV may be able to be repaired. I'm going to have it looked at soon.

We're talking about me needing a TV so I can quit screwing around with a crappy TV Tuner. Or tips on getting the tuner to display right.

Get a TV it's your TV tuner being stupid. Happens with a lot of older consoles thanks to general calamity caused by 240p which is the resolution they display in.
