PAL regions finally get a new SHMUP!

Post by Frizz.Meister »

Raiden fighters come out on the 29th of october for the PAL region. Maybe shmups are making a bit of a comeback after all? Heres hoping this is successfull and more follow suit.

As for the game, do any of you non-europe members own it? Is it a good compilation as every video on it i've found shows it as kind of 'grainy' looking with very few bullets on screen. Is this just the video recording/stage selection, or is the game pretty true to this?

Just to mention, inspite of my love for shmups i have NEVER played a Raiden game, so treat me dumb :D

It's good the games aren't particularly modern so there are fewer bullets than we're used to nowadays but the game is still challenging, I had the Japanese version but sold it when I pre-ordered the PAL copy back in July... When it was originally stated for release! If you've not pre-ordered it yet zavvi.co.uk are doing it for £13.95

Indeed it's good stuff. I don't care for bullet hell games much myself and these are more in the older style. That's not to say they can't fill the screen with stuff at times, just that it doesn't get so busy that the bullets are the background.

£13.95 is a steal for a retail 360 game, no idea how that sites going to turn a profit with it. As for my own graphics question i watched amazons trailer and realised it was jsut the film quality, it actually appears to look quite nice sort of similar to gunbird style just without all the anime.

It was a $20 release here in the US, so that sounds about right.
