Pick me out some Virtual Console games!

Post by PharmaceuticalCowboy »

Hey everyone I just got 4000 points for VC for X-mas! I was wondering what everyone's picks were. Sin and Punishment is #1 but I dunno what else!

I was thinking maybe an adventure game or RPG, although I never got into the Zelda series (other than Phantom Hourglass and I only played about 40mins of that!) maybe Zelda or Neutopia, also maybe F-Zero because I never played any of those games.

I also have a few other VC games: Paper Mario, Super Mario World, Sonic 2, Bonk's Adventure, Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart 64 and Pac-Man. Thanks for your suggestions :D

For RPGs I would say Landstalker and the Shining Force games (2 is out on VC now right?)

I really like Kid Chameleon (genesis).

actually, what I have be doing is getting the ROMs and trying them out first, then buying if I like it enough. I recently purchased Baseball Stars that way.

Mario Kart 64 - N64 - solid fun title with a fantastic multiplayer.
Bomberman 93 - TG16 - 5 player bomberman. If you dont have a Saturn this is a nice alternative.
Dragon Spirit - TG16 - fun shump, not terribly challenging but a very good game.
Alien Soldier - Genesis - I have actually never played it but it sounds awesome.
Contra III - SNES - Run and Gun to the t's
Gunstar Heroes - Genesis - Treasure made Run and Gun, whats not to love?

However if you have not played a Zelda, the first one is my favorite by far and is only 500 wii points. It allows for a greater level of exploration than any of the later games and provides a good challenge. I would be remiss not to bring this up.

If you like Bonk's Adventure go for Bonk's Revenge. And counter to Fastbilly, I'm going to recomment against Dragon Spirit. I liked it when I was younger, but the dragon moves too slowly and has too large a hit box. It's just too easy to die because there's no possible way to dodge.

Marurun, you are missing the point. It is a shump where you play a dragon - who can become two headed... Thats only partially a joke.

You need the king of all hockey games: BLADES OF STEEL. An NES title released on the Virtual Console Monday - atleast in the states. You cannot find a better 500 point multiplayer game.
