There ya go. That explains why you bought that Japanese Saturn a while back.

To the OP, yeah... definitely try to find a deal on a Japanese Saturn lot. It is definitely the way to go.

Nah, I can perform the mod

I bought a Japanese Saturn because

a) It didnt cost much more than a PAL Saturn
b) The white is sex!

Apparently this man has never heard of the Gizmondo. Or N-Gage. Or Phantom. Or Virtual Boy. Or Game.com.

Did I just list five systems worse than the Saturn? It didn't take too long. This guy is obviously very sheltered if the Saturn is the worst system in his book.

In the writer's defence, it was The Worst Major Console of All Time. With the exception of possibly the Virtual Boy, none of the ones you mentioned can be considered major consoles - and I wouldn't even consider the Virtual Boy to be a major console, come to think of it. Did it even come out in Europe?

I blame America, Not the Sega Saturn.
If you import games, the Saturn beats out PSone & N64, IMHO.

One thing I'm discovering that is both simple yet amazing about the Saturn is how some games really take advantage of that built in clock.

I've been playing Christmas Nights and it seems the game is never the same twice - and I haven't even played on any major holidays yet. You never see things like this anymore.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

To be honest, saying something like "the worst major console of all time" is pretty vague. I mean, how do you define "major"? Units sold? Manufacturer? Global Availibility?

Yeah the Saturn definitely was the best looking out of the N64, PSX and Saturn generation... too bad looks alone don't sell. I mean the Xbox was ugly and it did well.

Lord_Santa wrote:never been interested in the Saturn, but after reading the "Worst console of all time" article and then the comments, I got very curious

someone linked to a youtube channel with 155 Saturn games

well... took me one hour to watch, but there were some games there that looked really interesting

and the comments all made me want to try and find one of these consoles

I'm going to scrounge the interwebz and see if I can't find one here in Sweden

:edit

found one...

is €70 too much?

one controller and the console

Glad to see you've decided to get a Saturn. Because of it, I haven't been able to finish Red Dead Redemption! It really is a superb system. The opening level to Panzar Dragoon is just ... wow!

Oh wow, that's really neat. I need to check this out and play on Halloween!
