what the title says, Resident Evil 2
i am not sure if i should pplay it on which system
i try not to use my dreamcast if i have alternatives just to give it a little bit more life to play the DC exclusives
but then again i think playing it on the dreamcast might have its spexial retro taste
is there anything to consider wheni choosing which version?
i think i did ask this before in this forum but i have a really bad bad memory

The GameCube will have the least amount of disc loading times. Or if you wanted no load time you could play it on the N64. Don't know anything about the DC version, though.

GC version's load times are practically nonexistant. I think the DC one has some extras though as the GC was just a port of the PS1 dual shock version.
Re: re2 between dreamcast and gamecube
I have the Dreamcast Version and from what I understand the only differences between it and the GC version are these:
The DC version has the special Artwork from the PC version.
The GC version's FMVs run at a faster frame rate.
The DC version displays your status and ammo on the VMU which is a nice bonus.
The DC load times are pretty normal; nothing stood out as too long to me. I'd say just pick the version based on which controller you like more. I use the D-Pad to control the characters so I prefer the Dreamcast version because the D-Pad is better. In the end it's up to you but both versions are good and both are around the same price.
Oh and the N64 version shines since you can use complete analog control and it really changes up the game, at least for me.

Re: re2 between dreamcast and gamecube
Hey Kingmohd84,
I would go for the Dreamcast version. The Dreamcast version comes on two discs, where as the Gamecube verson was compressed down to fit on only 1 disc. Therefore in the process, both the sound quality and FMV's have been reduced and compressed.
The Dreamcast FMV's are sweet, running at full screen and uncompressed. The sound is also very full compared to the GC version. Also as the folks said above, theres a few exclusive features like VMU support, plus... the dreamcast version also works with the DC VGA adapter, letting you play on a computer monitor in higher resolution.
take care,

A lot of the above post seems pretty wrong. Are you sure you aren't comparing the Dreamcast version to the Nintendo 64 version?
Re: re2 between dreamcast and gamecube
Ah yes, the Resi series, one that I'd be hard-pressed to replay today. I played through the PC version, and glitched the heck out of the EXE to get infinite SMG ammo from the get-go
Didn't even know there was a Cube port
