I am truly a cynic!

Post by lordofduct »

Happy holidays everyone

It's X-mas weekend, or what ever other secular holiday you might by chance be celebrating.

I for one am an atheist and don't really partake in the Christian X-mas, but I do take the time this year to be happy... and try to avoid the stores as it ruins that happiness for me.

This year I even went as far as messaging all my family and telling them I love them dearly and they mean a lot to me.

...
yeah, I have a heart.

...
well, they didn't take it as me having a heart.

...
that's right, the fact I said I love them got them ALL worried. My phone and my cousin's phone (he lives with me) we ringing off the hook this morning with my worried family members who took my words of love as a suicide note.

yep, suicide over SMS txt message! WOOT!

Haha. I actually saw that coming when I started reading it. I have people misreading me too.

I can't remember where I heard this, but either suicides or deaths go up a bit right around Christmas time, so that might have been in the backs of their minds too.

Just shrug it off, and send another one around Easter to get them really puzzling.

Oh don't worry... when I woke up the next day and heard about it from my cousin, and noticed the 12 or so messages on my voice mail... I laughed as well.

I find it amazing that my family is so used to my emotionless cynicism, that when I show any emotion they think there is something wrong.

That really is kind of sick. If you really care about your family, start showing. I, for one, don't, therefor I don't.
