or i could post on 3 forums to get a wider selection of feedback from people =P

tnx for the kotaku link btw JT i had not seen that

Im still wondering if anyone can chime in on their opinions of the games i have listed there. If any really stand out, or any of the low desire ones should just be droped

I do have one aditional question though. I know the 3000 has a more saturated color space (wide color space like you see on most tv's id guess) My question is can that be disabled? Most tv's have an On/off option for that

I ask because i guess it makes some games look really screwed up. I found this example of it on the mgs4 trailer:

http://gear.ign.com/articles/923/923225p1.html

Anyone with a 3k that can tell me if you can set the color space to normal?

oh and i stumbled across 3 other games:
YS I&II chronicles
YS: the oath in Felghana
Adventures to Go!

the first 2 are Y's games so theyre probably worth taking a look at, but not sure about adventures to go!

Hello kenshin-dono

Let me try to see if I can give you some brief info of the games you list from your previous post. Hope this will give you an idea if you want to buy it or not.

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony (Brief Info: Buy the normal version as they is no point to get limited one. Very decent ported RPG game which is been love by so many people)

Code: Select all

This have a limited edition which is really consisted of the game itself, a CD soundtrack, and 6 photographs post card type of the female character (in the game) in a kinky dress. I won't recommend you to buy this limited edition as it isn't worth the 10 extra dollars for just 6 cards and a soundtrack disc which you can find it now on torrent site. As for the game itself, I just play the demo version of the game and from that, it's look like a very good port of the original game. It isn't too difficult and the gameplay during battle is fun. Worth checking it out.
Knights in the Nightmare (Brief Info: Don't buy it if you're not patience and don't have time to understand the game mechanic as the game itself will make you its bitch)

Code: Select all

I am not a fan of this game but yea, it's a remake of the DS port. This game is hard as hell and it doesn't help that the difficulty curve is very high. If you have the patience and time to understand how this game should be play and go through some trial and error, then this game might be something you should check out. From what I heard, the storyline and the gameplay mechanic is very well done if you manage the difficulty curve. The game itself is actually a squeal of Yggdra union which is a squeal of Riviera: The Promised Land. If you're going to play this, you should play the other 2 games. The free copy of Yggdra union when preorder is true. Just buy the launch copy and in the game you get a code to get the digital copy of Yggdra union.
The legend of heroes (Brief Info: If you like those typical JRPG from the SNES/Genesis era, then you should check it out. If you don't, rent/download it to test the water but don't expect much really)

Code: Select all

I didn't play this game at all but from what I heard from my friend who play this and the other squeals, it's an okay game. The artwork in the game is very nicely drawn and they have many long quest which take you few hours to complete. It's a typical JRPG storyline so, don't expect anything crazy in the storyline, character development, and dialog with the characters in the game.
The Legend of heroes II (Brief Info: Same as the first so, you either like classic JRPG from the SNES/Genesis era to buy this or you just avoid it by now if you hate the generic storyline)

Code: Select all

Same as the first one but now you can save anywhere on the map. Unfortunately, because it's the same as the first, JRPG storyline is starting to be a drag and they isn't much new stuff to keep you occupied really unless you love those old style JRPG.
The legend of heroes III (Brief Info: If you manage to get this far, then they is nothing for me to say about this game)

Code: Select all

Same as the first game but now become more bland and generic JRPG. Nothing much to say really.
PoPoLoCrois (Brief Info: None)

Code: Select all

I didn't play it and I won't play it as I am not a fan of those game.
Final fantasy Tactics- The war of the Lions (Brief Info: Updated port of the ps1 but with cut scene, and more classes. Great strategy game......if you can fandom the steep learning curve in the game.)

Code: Select all

I don't like turn based strategy game and when it announced that it's coming out for the psp, I didn't buy it. From wat my friend say, it's an updated ported of the ps1 game (which I have it because I am sucker of Final Fantasy stuff in my young time) but now with couple additional classes, new video to flesh out of the storyline and more customize stuff for you to play with. Unfortunately, the learning curve for this game is steep and unless you're going to put a lot of hours in it to understand the game mechanic, you might want to avoid it. Great storyline and character development and have to say, one of the few best Final Fantasy game out there now.
Tales of The World: Radiant Mythology (Brief Info: If you like a game that is somewat mmorpg but it's not and you're really doing mission and side mission in the whole game, this is the game to try. Don't expect much from this game.)

Code: Select all

Play it for a bit and have to say it's a fun game. Not really a fan of the tales series but if you don't play the other tales game, this game is still fun as you don't really have to know what happens in the previous other games (you should if you want to understand what each character are). Story is as cliche as you can be the battle are basically button mashing. Fun game but shouldn't play for a long time period.
Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (Brief Info: An updated port of the ps1 game now with CGI video to try to expand the storyline better but couple of minor issues with drag the game down a bit.)

Code: Select all

Never play this nor the ps1 game so, I can't give you any opinion about this. But from fans of the game, it's a port of the ps1 version (which is getting harder to find in decent price) with couple stuff update to make the game even more enjoyable and help expand the storyline and character development. Also, they is couple of issues from the psp port which isn't a problem from the original (something with the loading issues). If you're a fan of the game, you most likely buy it already. If you're going into this game new, I think it might be good to rent the game before you buy it. This is also one of the best game coming out from japan during the ps1 era.
Crimsongem Saga (Brief Info: Never play it so no opinion about this game)

Dissidia Final Fantasy (Brief Info: You like fighting game like street fighter with character from the FF series to kick everyone ass with storyline which you don't have a clue or don't care? This game is for you. If you want a typical Final Fantasy RPG style game, avoid it.)

Code: Select all

Okay, I going to get some heat from this game but this game is basically a " if you love it/hate it game and I hate this game. I am not a fan of fighting game and when playing this game, it doesn't catch onto me. Maybe if you give more time playing the game and understand the game itself, you might like it but I don't see a point playing it really. Basically, a fighting game with ff characters.
Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core (Brief Info: A decent RPG game that kinda tell you the story of what happens before the FF 7 timeline started. Think devil may cry combat system, mix a slot machine type game that give you limited attack, and with linear storyline plus side quest.)

Code: Select all

If you like FF alot, you will like this game. The game itself is decent. Lots of CGI video to help you understand what is happening in the story and plot development. The gameplay is decent and they is alot of things to do. They isn't much to say about the storyline really. Linear but they give you alot of side quest to do which I think is maybe the strength of the game. Long game to finish but it's time well spend for me.

tnx thats a pretty indepth summary of several of the games. I think i have a pretty good idea of what games i will prioritize. First will be the limited editions while they're still out then i have an idea of where to go from there

I do want to verify what games have limited editions though. From what i can tell this is it:

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony Limited Edition
Y's 7
YS: The Oath In Felghana
prinny: can i really be a hero?
Persona ( i think this has a limited edition.. i dont see it on amazon but i get one when i search on google)
persona 3 (preorder bonus with a hat? i see some on amazon)

can anyone confirm that this is all the games that there are limited editions of? or know of any others? It seems like a small list, i would think there are more

anyway thanks to those who helped. I actually think i may be getting a DS afterwards for a couple specific games, maybe i'll make another thread for that when i get around to it

I use my PSP to play ports and remakes of current-gen games. This is only because I like most of my games to be "on-the-go." Gives me a more simplistic sense of gaming. Theres also a nice batch of retro games brought to the PSP as well.

So its pretty much nothing that you couldn't get better versions of on the home consoles you have. Unless you really like J-RPG's and Monster Hunter.

I do have Persona , Person 3 Portable, Lunar:LE, and Y's LE.

Persona and P3P have first release bonus, where Persona have OST CD's (x2), while P3P just had a baseball cap based on one worn by an in-game character. There are limited time release, but don't count as limited edition.

Lunar and Y's limited edition has more stuff besides OST CD's, such as artbook, random stuff (cards or cloth map).
