Why do you like shmups?

being a very stressed out person with little-to-no focus in anything I do; I find that SHMUP's feel like meditation to me

I've actually tried to explain this same feeling. I find Shmups make me focus on something. They're very zen-like.

i just played a game on my ipad called Galuda 2.
There are so many things happening at the screen at once that I don't think I am playing, just move around mindlessly . There is me, the enemies, the bullets, and the green gems I should be collecting and about 0 pixels with no action happening in them at any one time.
How can you concentrate on this?

You don't have to watch everything, just the bullets that are coming for you. Focus a short ways ahead of your character and move into the spaces. Once you get that down, it's just up to practice. Eventually you do kind of zen out and it becomes natural.

I am such a huge RPG fan. I am usually playing more than one RPG at the same time. Games such as this, as well as run and guns help be my anti-RPG when I get overwhelmed by them. These games I can just pick up, play for an hour and have fun doing so, clearing my mind.
