GT5 + Driving Force GT by Logitech.

Post by Riqz85 »

I'm thinking of buying a Driving Force GT with GT5 as soon as it comes out.

I want a great steering wheel that really makes my jaw drop with awe.

Has anyone had any experience with this wheel? Is it a good quality wheel? Are the pedals decent? Do i need a rig to go with the pedals and wheel (i hope not)

Any info would be much appreciated.

Looks like a beautiful controller!

One issue is having to be locked down at the table, works if table is at a comfortable height. Great at a computer desk maybe lousy at the cofee table. I prefer the Interact V3. It can be clamped to the table or the base placed under your legs while sitting. The best part is the tilt and height adjustment, can even be tipped straight up as in driving a semi truck.

I have both the PS2 and Dreamcast versions, there is one for the PS3.

What doesn't convince me about your wheel is that it doesn't have a gear stick!

I'm gonna be clamping mine to my "dinner" table so should be at a comfortable height hopefully.

Also, the driving force looks absolutely stunning eheh!

Anyway yeah the gear stick is an absolute must atm for me.

I hear you, Slamming a stick is better then tapping buttons for shifting.
Well, as long as you have the ergonomics down, looks like a winner.

Something else, stick configuration capability.
I had a Dreamcast Mad Katz driving wheel before.
I hated that the stick didn't have the right directions for Crazy Taxi.

If you want a nice wheel, don't even considering anything without force feedback. Since getting the official xbox 360 racing wheel for Forza 2 & 3, I find it very difficult using anything without force feedback. I love the instant feedback you get from the wheel when you start losing grip, without that I simply cannot react accordingly.

You can do a lot worse than the Driving Force GT, I don't think you would be disappointed in it.

I think it's worth pointing out that the scuderia wheel that DS pointed out lacks force feedback.

Well that's just unbelievable. I'm hearing really great things about the GT driving force. Mostly confident because the GT team was also behind it working with Logitech to get the ultimate gran turismo wheel.

Just to make sure, I'm not talking about the Driving Force GT, i'm talking about this wheel. The Driving Force GT does have force feedback (the hint's in the name :P). The Thrustmaster Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia doesn't have force feedback.
