Source? All info I can find says nothing like that. Remaking them all in hd2d or 2.5d would be nice. I would love to play Mario 2 in hd.

Yeah where did you read this? If it's as you say it's a must buy then. But I doubt it.
Thanks everyone...

I'd be extremely surprised if Nintendo did not release this here in the States!

I wouldn't, but if they do, I am definitely getting a new Wii. (Old one broke years ago)

I wonder if we'll get it in 'authentic' 50hz or not :x

Disk based releases usually do offer that thankfully (unlike the horrible offerings of the PAL VC) but if its just a ROM hack of the PAL original then we can welcome back those borders and officially call Nintendo one of the sloppiest companies of all time for ruining a supposed tribute to Mario's finest moments by squishing them into 90's style 50hz.

I view this release the same way. The packaging and everything that comes with the game looks fantastic and worthy of 25th year anniversary. However, the game included is not worthy of 25th year magic and is quite a big let down for me... the same game has technically been around for over 17 years now since the SNES (don't get me wrong, SMB 1-3 are great games). I feel Nintendo missed a great opportunity to really make something special by having a nice big collection of Mario games on disc for the 25th year anniversary. I love Mario games but I'm honestly not really interested in this because it seems like a cash-in.

I agree with this, there are so many Mario games they could have put on this disc, super mario world, Gameboy Marios, Mario RPG, paper mario, mario 64, mario cart, mario paint, and so on.

If this comes out I will get it day one. Yeah it would be cooler to have more Mario games but if I had a choice between this and nothing, well guess which I chose.

According to the video in the Japanese commercial. It looks just like the SNES/SFC version of Mario Allstars. Which at the estimated retail of $30, doesnt seem that bad (Mario Allstars goes for $20-30 on ebay)

so much for the updated graphics rumor. :?

anyway:
Super Mario All-Stars Confirmed for North America

Already set for release in Europe and Japan, Nintendo of America has finally confirmed that Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition will be hitting the Nintendo Wii this December. Priced at $29.99, the Limited Edition comes with the original Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3. For those unaware Super Mario Bros. 2 is a re-skinned version of the Japanese game Doki-Doki panic. It was later released in Japan as Super Mario USA.

In addition to these 4 games the Limited Edition will include a soundtrack CD as well as a commemorative booklet. The booklet will feature 32 pages of behind-the scenes info on game development as well as rare concept art.
and it seems like Super Mario World is not included as well.. :?

Mario 2 is such a better game than Doki Doki Panic. The addition of a run button makes it superior in all forms.
