What GameGear games were exclusive then?

Post by Curlypaul »

Following on from Scooters thread, which games were exclusive/unique/the best version of that appeared on the GameGear?

I have the SMS adapter and some SMS games but now I have an AC adapter I would like to start collecting complete GameGear games beacuse they are both rare and cheap. 2 reasons to be happy but I would rather buy games that I will enjoy playing.

The version of Jurassic Park was really fun for the game gear!

The entire Sonic series for the game gear was very unique. The first two feel like hacks of the genesis series, but after that, with Chaso, and triple trouble are VERY fun. Sonic 1 and 2 on the game gear are very interesting and unique to the game gear.

The shinobi seires was also very fun on the game gear. Oh, and Shining force (though it is also available on Shining Force CD). I didn't jam that many unique titles on the game gear as they were very pricey and I also leaned towards Genesis title at the time (what do you expect, I was a kid, not a lot money to splurge on video games at the time). I'm drunk right now, so I can't really think of many more off the top of my head.

What was Jurassic park? a platformer?

All I've got so far is Sonic 2 (majesco), Lemmings and the 4in1 sports cart, but I'll definatley look into the shinobi games and shining force sounds interesting too.

The Game Gear got quite a few games that the Master System didn't (unless you count the TecToy Brazilian ports)

Tails Adventure
Sonic Labyrinth (ick)
Sonic Drift 1 and 2
Sonic Triple Trouble (sequel to Sonic Chaos)
Baku Baku
Coco Cola Kid (Ran on Sonic Chaos engine, actually pretty good)
Dynamite Headdy & Gunstar Heroes (surprisingly good ports)
Ristar

Baku Baku you say? I'd def be interested in that.

Was the Cocacola kid a jap only packin? I'm guessing that would be pretty rare over here

Game Gear has a unique Shinobi title, a fun Batman game, and some Rogue-like that I can't recall the name of.

same. something about the screen getting inSANEly blurry everytime a character moved always made it hard for me to play.
