I wonder why it won't come up for you Hobie? I'm downloading it right now.
Anyone have any backstory on how this game came to be?

Yup, it runs flawlessly on the real hardware, either NES or Famicom. It's cool, but I wish there was a real single player game to it rather than just the two time attack modes.
Also this game is almost exactly like StarPrince in GameCenter CX/Retro Game Challenge for the DS.

It reminded me of Soldier Blade on Turbografx 16

I get a real Compile vibe from this game.

I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. I haven't played it on a PC with a controller, just on my PSP. I should give that a shot. Should we post some scores? I only do the 2 minute time attack, haven't done the 5 minute one yet. Been focusing on getting the best score I can on the 2 minute run. I guess I can try the 5 minute one while on the pooper.

Played a 2 minute and a 5 minute game during lunch. Worked great with the Hori stick I still have hooked up.

There's a reason I said "Star Recca Soldierhed". The music, opening enemy formation, and ship gun spread pattern are straight from the PCE Soldier games. The design of those background elements in level 1 are right from level 1 of Gunhed/Blazing Lazers. The hud is very similar to Recca. It's good stuff.MrPopo wrote:I get a real Compile vibe from this game.

Yeah I got that vibe too. I played a 2 minute game today but I had to use the keyboard. Can't wait to play it again with a decent controller!Hobie-wan wrote:Played a 2 minute and a 5 minute game during lunch. Worked great with the Hori stick I still have hooked up.![]()
