Though I'm curious how USPS managed to snap a GB cart. They're not very big and pretty tough. :?

Must've sat something SUPER HEAVY on top of it and hit it just the right weak point. See Luke's picture of the broken one next to the replacement I sent him:

Pretty bad. But hey, I've mailed hundreds of carts without incident. Something's bound to go wrong every once in a while. Shrug.

Dude, that's fixable with some epoxy as long as the board is ok.

the board is fine. Luke even told me it's playable. BUT the whole thing is this: me & Luke have been talking about DuckTales on GB since I joined this site. When I had an extra copy of DT2, I sold it to Luke. He was thrilled. So when I had an extra of the first, I knew where it had to go. I knew it meant a lot to him to have this game so I felt bad that he ended up with a busted looking one. I knew if I swapped him a nicer one and glued this one up someone else could use it. (You want it Hobie?)

Out of curiosity, what sort of mailer did you use?

And +1 for k.vlaros. Can't complain about same day shipping.

The first copy of Duck Tales noise sent me was wrapped in a page from game informer, and sent in an envelope. I'm sending the broken cart to noise today.

The plastic, as weird as this might sound, feels "soft". When I opened the envelope I saw the dame in three pieces, and the cart almost felt soft, as if someone had left the cart in a green house.

Duck Tales on GB has tons of nostalgia value to me, so hats off to noiseredux for sending me a copy that I would consider to be in mint condition.

yeah I often send single-GB carts just wrapped in a couple pages in an envelope. I generally tell others to send me single carts the same way. I've sent hundreds that way without a problem. It sounds like something really odd and unusual happened on this ones' trip is all. Stranger things happen. BTW, Luke did offer to keep the game and mentioned it was playable. He really didn't make any sort of fuss or anything. Just to clarity. I just sent him a 2nd one more as a personal favor, becuz Luke is good peoples and I knew this was a little holy grail that he had been after for a long while.

I hope that this wasn't a typo.

it wasn't. I sent him a lady from a hard-boiled detective story.

It was cold in the city that night. So cold you could cut your breath with a knife. Cats were sleeping with dogs in alleyways and Sharkey and his men had been eluding me for weeks. I needed to crack the case but I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I'd been staring at a pile of clues and nursing a bottle of scotch all day but it just didn't add up. Why would anyone want to threaten a well known entertainer like that?

Suddenly there was a Noise at the door. I instinctively drew my gun as it was after hours and the building should have been empty. My head throbbed like a firehose as the shadow in the frosted glass bent down. The hissing of paper being slid under the door filled my ears and then the figure was gone.

My mind raced at the possible convents of the bulging envelope that had been left for me. Was Sharkey taunting me? Had some informant crawled out of the woodwork to give me an anonymous clue? I pulled out my trusty knife and when I opened the envelope I saw the dame in three pieces.

That bastard had carried out on his threats. It was too late to save DT but come hell or high water Sharkey was gonna pay for his deed with every last fiber of his being.
