Wonderswan Color&BW Reccomendations

Post by Riqz85 »

Ok! I have a FFII special edition Wonderswan Color and I have Gunpey (normal B&W version), Densha De Go and One Piece Swan Colliseum.

I really need some more games (import friendlyish) and can't seem to find any list or reccomendation. Can you guys help me? Don't say Judgement Silversword cos i can't dish out that kind of cash ahah.

Romancing Saga if you like rpgs, or Klonoa was good as well. Pocket fighter of Gem Fighter was released on the system, but its rare.

The Guilty Gear Petit games are pretty awesome. The 2nd one is a little better (more characters and better control options), but both are good. Chibi GG fighters are reason enough to own the portable.

Otherwise, a lot of games are RPGish and require a lot of struggling or a really good walkthrough/FAQ to enjoy. Final Fantasy 1 is fairly easy to get through, but I also know that game inside and out.

Some strategy games exist that can probably be enjoyed once you learn the menus (Blue Wing Blitz, Front Mission). I've yet to explore them though.

There's the mentioned Klonoa game (for black/white Wonderswan), that is probably decent (don't have it though).

And I would recommend Dicing Knight (has an English option), but it has an even worse price tag than JS. And that's if you can even find it.

...But, I'm curious as to other people's recommendations. I mainly only got a Wonderswan for GG and FF1.

Doesn't look like it. http://www.gamefaqs.com/wsc/578836-roma ... aga/images

Just found this page of recommendations
http://www.wonderswan.co.uk/2006/05/but ... anese.html
and
http://www.wonderswan.co.uk/2006/01/won ... tions.html

Also, I just remembered another game I have. Kinnikuman Nisei: Dream Tag Match
It's a fairly enjoyable wrestling type game. It's main fault is that it's a little too simple (either that or I just don't know how to do anything exept for punch and the Super move).

There is a serious lack of English Wonderswan fan sites. I used to know of one other site, but I think it went the way of the dodo. Anyone else know of a good Wonderswan site?

No it is a game that has only been released in Japan. This is the first entry in the series.

There are limitations what the 101 guide can offer, and I did mentioned in a separate posts, that it should updated every once a while.

There were ports of Tetris and Space Invaders for WSC as well, there's Final Lap series from Namco, which is a racing game. Buffers Evolution, which is a platform game similar to earlier Sonic series.

Otherwise, I would agree the main hurdle for owning a WonderSwan is due to its limited release within Japan - thus no English translation for outsiders.

Thanks guys. And yes i did read the 101 ofc but if you read it you would realise there's very few reccomendations on there. Especially import friendly reccomendations.
Pity most of them are fighters. Bandai really didnt want this coming to europe and US.
