Odd from me as I'm not big on the shooter genre, but I've played a few over the years
As far as conventional weapons go, I love the shotgun. There's something just iconic to me about that weapon and seeing it used in countless zombie horror movies, the classic, "This is my BOOMSTICK!" scene from Army of Darkness, as well as being wielded so awesomely by Chow Young Fat in the hospital scene of Hard Boiled has something to do with me loving shotguns. Shot guns are a blast to use in some of the Resident Evil games. I also played through the original Mass Effect with a shotgun equipped with explosive rounds. All my upgrades focused on increased damage with the tradeoff being that each shot basically overheated my gun, but it only took one shot from my shotgun to send an enemy flying away from me engulfed flames and usually knocking down anyone else in the same vicinity. Fun, fun, fun
As far as more creative weapons types used in shooters go, I love the sheepinator and similar guns in the Ratchet and Clank games, the shark gun in Armed and Dangerous, the Rynocirator in Ratchet and Clank:Up Your Arsenal(which disintegrated every enemy onscreen in a bright flash of white light) and the original Halo's Needler gun

Painkiller. Lightning gun. 'nuff said.

I also tend to favor shotguns. What does firing rate matter when you can unload on somebody with 00 buckshot at point blank? Seriously, I consider shotguns to be the old standby, and will gladly take them up over other guns in most games. In games with multiple weapons, I like to keep one handy for close encounters. In Call of Duty 4, I tended to favor the auto-shotgun with rapid reload and extra bandoleers as my preferred kit. In TFC, the super shotgun was my favorite gun for closing to AIDS range as a medic.
After all, what's not to like about it? It's a simple point and click interface.

Resistance: Fall of Man had many of my favorite guns. I'd say my most loved was the Hailstorm, which could launch Mini Turrets anywhere - even in the air. It's primary fire was pretty cool, too, just launching hundreds of green bullets into your enemy within seconds. Other favorites from that game was the Backlash Grenade, Bullseye, and the time-manipulating Fareye.
The Half-Life series had many of my favorites as well - the Egon Cannon, Gauss Gun, Barnacle Gun, Gravity Gun, and my favorite of all, those lovable Snarks. Heck, even the RPG was really damn fun to use, what with the ability to change it's path mid-flight.
I've always loved Unreal Tournament's weapons. Pulse Gun, Shock Rifle and Flak Cannon are joys to use - and no one can deny the fun of using the Redeemer - but I always really loved the Ripper. Headshots were always more fun to do with the Ripper than any other weapon in the game, especially if you managed to do it with a ricochet shot. Such a rewarding feeling.
Time Splitters had tons of weapons, many of them quite cool - but I always loved the Blunderbuss. It's like the Dan of an FPS Arsenal - funny, but only until it hits you.

The mini-nuke in Fallout 3 is pretty sweet.

I love me the classic AK-47. I always use this gun if it's available in a game.
As Samuel L Jackson once said, "AK-47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every motherfucker in the room, accept no substitutes.

In the first Killzone, I don't recall if the weopon had a name but it was the main gun Rico used. It was this big machine gun that also fired rockets, and this dude carried it like it was an assault rifle.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
