Might wind up being pretty good news for us not Japanese people. So far, there are only two games. Both are shmups, and only one looks like its worth your money.
This could mean very good news in the near future. If shmups like the Parodius series and DoDonPachi become available through this, prices of actual copies could drop. (And of course, being able to buy 6 dollar digital versions is pretty cool as well.)
Being a PSP owner, I am pleased.

Japanese Titles being brought to American PSN
Re: Japanese Titles being brought to American PSN
It is good news, but you should do a search for this sort of stuff before making a new thread. I'm pretty sure this topic already exists.
BTW, you can download these games of the Japanese PSN. Just buy a Japanese PSN card online and use the number. Create your own Japanese account with any address.
Dodonpachi has been available since April I think. I don't expect the price to drop, as it's only 3000-4000yen to begin with. The three Parodius games are more expensive, so it would be nice to see those on PSN. Konami has released quite a few other shooters now, especially their PC Engine versions on the PSN. I expect to see at least Parodius Da! fairly soon.
I'm especially looking forward to seeing Sexy Parodius, Gradius Gaiden and Gradius II (PC Engine) released. Dracula X: Chi no Rondo and the PS1 Konami Deluxe Packs would also be nice to see.

Hopefully we can get Einhander as well.. I've been tempted to get a JP card, but I'm afraid of possibly getting banned or something.. Unless it is totally allowed to purchase a JP account?

There is nothing illegal about getting a Japanese PSN account. Heck, in my case, I actually DO have both a Japanese address and a Canadian address. I'm using a Japanese PS3 in North America and have used both accounts since early 2007. I also have an American PS3. Nothing wrong with that. These are legally purchased games that are installed on both systems. The point is that I can think of no contract that I am breaching. Even if I "did", it is not something that can be proven or that Sony would care about. They are making money!
Just get a JP PSN card if you want. There are some sweet games to be had!

Oh I know that, that's why I mentioned the game...Breetai wrote: Einhander is on the JP PSN.
Yeah I may just get a JP PSN card and see what I can download... I see they have an MMO called Angel Love Online, looks like a pretty interesting game considering you can play it straight from your ps3..

I'd be too worried about getting banned from PSN. Not a risk I'm willing to take.
Re: Japanese Titles being brought to American PSN
You won't get banned. Even if you did, whatever you downloaded is yours.

Why on earth are you so worried about getting banned for doing something totally legitimate like making a purchase? Just go get a JPN PSN card and get it over with.We appreciate your interest in the PlayStation®Network. Access to a region's PlayStation®Store is determined by the country associated with the PlayStation®Network account. The PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system will automatically direct the PlayStation®Network account to the corresponding region's PlayStation®Store. Also, once a PlayStation®Network account is created, the country for that account is unable to be modified. If your country is not listed, we apologize but PlayStation®Network access is not currently supported in your country at this time.
A PLAYSTATION®3 from one region will be able to access the PlayStation®Store for another region, however, the PlayStation®Network account must have a valid mailing address within that foreign region. Additionally, if you wish to purchase content* from a specific region's PlayStation®Store, you must have a credit card or debit card (with a VISA or MasterCard logo) with a billing address from the same region. Not all PlayStation®Network and PlayStation®Store content may operate as intended on a console that is from another region, (i.e., different language displayed, software titles may not be compatible, etc.). We do not have any information that will override these territorial restrictions and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Well damn... That's a pretty snazzy deal. I dunno, I've always thought stuff like this would go against TOS, but I guess not.
Thank you!! ^_^
Will not having a valid mailing address interfere with this, or do they only care about that when it comes to credit card payments? I don't see why PSN cards would make them want an address.

Re: Japanese Titles being brought to American PSN
Aw nuts, I have 5,400 yen left on my J-PSN card. Oh well, I'll use it for other games instead of all PSone classics for my PSP.
