Yeah, but that would take me over the $10 limit too. One day I hope to get one of those though.noiseredux wrote:you could pick up a couple of Wavebirds if you wanted GCN games with no chords...

I cannot recommend playing RE4 first because I don't think that the frightening atmosphere lasts as well as the alternatives. Since you are looking for scary titles, I would recommend Resident Evil Archives which is just a port of the GameCube remake of RE1. Like pepharytheworm said, "they are priced around $20" but I feel that RE Archives is worth the added cost.SpaceBooger wrote:Should I get RE4 (never completed a RE game before)

Re: Wii Games for October
I was thinking about that remake, but worried about the "tank" controls. I tried many RE games and never continued with them because I dislike the control.Opa Opa wrote:I cannot recommend playing RE4 first because I don't think that the frightening atmosphere lasts as well as the alternatives. So I have to ask does the remake of RE1 for the Wii use tank controls or the same ones as in RE4?

Re: Wii Games for October
the remakes give you a choice of control type like RE2 n64 did.

WELCOME TO SURVIVAL HORROR!!!SpaceBooger wrote:I was thinking about that remake, but worried about the "tank" controls. I tried many RE games and never continued with them because I dislike the control.

Anyway... All RE games that I can think of have tank controls. Even RE4 and 5. The only thing that has changed is that instead of fixed camera angles you have the camera over your shoulder.
I really like tank controls for survival horror games. (That's a rare thing these days

I don't remember that. What was the control scheme?pepharytheworm wrote:the remakes give you a choice of control type like RE2 n64 did.
Edit: I really don't know what you're talking about. I'm looking at the N64 manual and I don't see anything. If you play with the D-Pad or analog stick the controls are the same. The action button layouts might change a bit but I don't see a difference. Maybe there is something in the remakes I'm forgetting...

Re: Wii Games for October
That was the whole reason I bought RE2 on the N64 and not the PS1, because you can either play first person controls or tank controls. Instead of looking at the manual pop in your cartridge and check control settings. It gets a little confusing when you run to another room with a different camera angle in first person control scheme, but I like it better than tank controls. Now the Wii archives RE has 180-degree turn added like the GCN version, different controller options but still tank controls only.Opa Opa wrote:(@ pephary)I don't remember that. Just tried it. The first person controls didn't suck until the camera angle changed.pepharytheworm wrote:That was the whole reason I bought RE2 on the N64 and not the PS1, because you can either play first person controls or tank controls. Back to tank controls.
