What was the last movie you've seen?

i looove this movie- and the bad acting and some of the effects are what make it have such a great cult status- one of my faves around this time of year though

I watched the burning- standard slasher movie from the 80's- actually written by Harvey Weinstein- with a young (full head of hair) Jason Alexander(George Castanza)- overall I really liked it, it seemed a little more intelligent that a lot of other run of the mill slashers- and had some great kill scenes (the killer uses garden shears)- check it out though- pretty fun

dsheinem wrote:Street Fighter: The Movie (1994) – I have had a morbid curiosity about this movie for more than 15 years, but never saw it. When I recently picked up the PS1 game based on the movie (based on the game), I knew I had to finally bite the bullet. What I found was an unintentionally hilarious, embarrassing, and sad film. Whether or not you get much enjoyment from this depends on how much you like films that are so bad that they are good. This one approaches that kind of cult territory, and if it weren’t for the fact that it clearly has a budget and takes itself seriously, it might be considered a fun camp film. But oh no, this is not the case. The plot has little to nothing to do with what little I understand about the characters in Street Fighter, there is surprisingly very little hand to hand combat in the film, and the characters spurt some of the most ridiculous one-liners ever written (lines that put the Engrish of the Capcom games to shame), the direction is horrible (and provides a clue as to why there are so few fight scenes), and the somewhat appealing sets are under-utilized and poorly lit. It is a shame that Raul Julia’s career ended with this – I am pretty sure now that he died of insurmountable shame. A good argument could be made that this film killed Van Damme’s career and aborted Kylie Minogue’s acting future, so maybe it did some good. It gets a half point for some unintentionally hilarious dialogue (“I’m the Repo Man!”) and a half point for a few spot on casting decisions (Sagat, Zangief, and Balrog spring to mind).
Grade: 1/5
Since it has Raul Julia I give it 2.5 :P

2 weeks back i went to the cinema with the mrs to watch the new resident evil.

It was better than eithe rof us were expecting, well worth a watch.

of course totally open to another sequel.

i have to say as a franchise the films have not got worse with each sequel, they have remained the same quality wise throughout really.

I'll give you that, there were definitely some hilarious moments in the film believe it or not... I came into it expecting to be shocked, but I was disappointed, but the plot was a lot better than I thought so I guess it wasn't all bad..

The Out of Towners. Steve Martin's remake has nothing on the original. Jack Lemmon nailed the role to a T, and it's interesting to note that both actresses who played the wife are equally annoying.

Predators. There comes a time where a franchise overstays its welcome, and after viewing this pretty average action flick and completing the mediocre AvP game I can safely say I've had it with the Alien/Predator 'universe'. Still, the classics (Alien, Aliens and Predator) are still worthy of occasional viewings!

STANDING OVATION

This movie is so hilarious you may just stroke out. Dead serious.

I think the DVD release is 12/1. A must have for anyone who loves absolutely awesome movies.

I remember feeling the same way, overall, I think its a pretty great exploitation movie to show people with a weak stomach- reactions are priceless
