Just discovered this games is a region free 360 shmup. However there are no real in depth reviews on it, and from videos of gameplay it looks simply confusing. I dont mean the amount of bullets(thats awesome) but that they sometimes dont hurt the player and sometimes they just turn into points on contact?
Im sure this is because of ingame abilities, however i would like to know if anyone has played it? Whether it's worth buying? Can explain the gameplay a bit?

Condensed version:
Yes, very fun.
Yes, worth buying.
Bullets can hit you but your character has a very small hit box that unless bullets hit it, you're fine. (IIRC, bullets have a hit box as well.)
Gameplay: Hmmm can't say the finer details but, shoot stuff - blow stuff up - collect dropped stuff. FUN!

Re: ESPGALUDA II
Espgaluda II is probably the most complicated shmup I've ever played. I'm going to talk about the main mode (there's also Black Label, Arrange, and Omake mode, which all have their own wrinkles).
You have three buttons: shot, guard barrier, and awakening. Tapping shot causes you to fire out bullets, holding shot causes you to fire a laser (and move slower). As you kill enemies they drop gems, which you'll pick up automatically. If you press awakening all enemy bullets will slow down and turn purple. When you kill an enemy in this state the bullets will be cancelled, which generates gold that you pick up. While in this mode your gems will slowly decrease, and killing an enemy will cost you gems based on how big the enemy is. You can exit this mode by hitting awakening again. If you hold down awakening you will enter super awakening. Once you enter it you no longer have to hold the button. In this state you will slowly drain both gems and gold (so you need both to go into it). In this mode the bullets also slow down, however the bullet cancelling is different. Every bullet you cancel will respawn a new bullet a half second later that is aimed at you. You can repeat this to gain high scores (cancelling is the main point gainer). In either awakening mode once you run out of gems (or gold in super awakening) you enter into awakening over mode. In this enemy bullets turn red and go faster. You can exit this mode by hitting awakening again. Finally, there's guard barrier. Pressing this button makes you temporarily invincible and fires a forward laser for a second or two. This drains one quarter of your guard barrier bar. If you hold the button a force field that makes you invincible forms and the bar is drained. Once you release you fire, and the damage you do is higher the longer you hold the button. In awakening or super awakening (but not awakening over) if you get hit with a bullet you'll auto use the guard barrier and drain half the bar.
So the basic mechanic is to first start off in regular mode and kill dudes to get a ton of gems. Then you use those to build up gold in awakening. Go back to normal and get your gem count back up. Finally you go into super awakening to cancel and respawn a ton of bullets and gain a ton of points.
