Created a Google map for retro game shops

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Created a Google map for retro game shops

Post by Svovl »

Hi all,
I thought it would be nice to have some way to easily located retro game shops around the world so I've created a google map, and I hope you guys will fill in the stores you know.

The map can be found here

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8& ... 71,360&z=1

When adding a store, please give a short description, the address and perhaps an URL for the website

I was searching recently and I was completely unable to find any game stores in my city that aren't part of nation wide chains where I'll never find good deals. Couldn't believe it.

great idea!

would it be acceptable to put in locations of GoodWill stores and pawn shops? I do occasionally find neat gaming stuff there.

No one has added any shops? that is sad – do we really have to buy all our games on eBay?

Well you only started this thread yesterday. Personally, I couldn't quickly figure out how to add a location to your map so I gave up trying.

I just added the nearest store to me that I know of, but man! The interface for adding a new location is pretty bad. I know the pin marker I placed is not exactly where it should be, why can't I just add an address and have Google put it in the right place?!

Not that that's your fault Svovl, great idea :)

You press the 'edit' button in the left menu, then next to the map controls four icons appear. Use the icon looking like a upside-down drop of water to add stores to the map :-)
