What to do with dead GB carts?
Re: What to do with dead GB carts?
I say we set up a memorial page on myspace. Anyone got any Alanis Morissette mp3s?
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

In my case, I've tried the games on a GBASP, DSL, and BG Player. Same results on all. Also I used electrical contract cleaner, so they're clean as clean ban be.Opa Opa wrote:Was there any startup difference between the two?noiseredux wrote:as far as switching systems, I've tried it on my GBA SP and my GameCube GB Player.

You guys are crazy. We get a myspace profile, some of those glitter back grounds and a picture of the deceased cart from Noise? We're looking at 5-10 hits a year for the next two or three years before Myspace goes out of business.
This is what we should do. It's the responsible thing.

Actually, then CAN be used as donor carts.
I've read various threads about these "dead carts" and have always wondered about them. I've been thinking about making a thread in the BST forum to request people's broken carts. I have never came across a dead cart myself, and I have a couple hundred. I want to know what's up with them.
If you're gonna throw away a dead cart, I would love to take it off your hands.

No joy on giving the Pokemon Red some juice and firing it up. No change at all in behavior. Zig, if you want this cart to play with you're welcome to it. The battery is of course taken out and there's no label. PM me if you want it.

Re: What to do with dead GB carts?
It just so happens that I have a live but naked gameboy pcb - the guts of a Metroid 2 cart somewhere in my room. It's been kicking around for many years. The last time I wedged it into a gameboy with some cardboard it worked fine till I bumped it and the game froze up. I may even have the front part of the casing but I know the back's gone. If you want it I'd be happy to look for it and send it out to ya.

Re: What to do with dead GB carts?
I was wondering the same thing. I have unwanted GB carts somewhere and it'd be a shame to just toss them. The first thing that sprung to mind was noiseredux. PM me if you want them. Pokemon and Chachamaru Panic.
