Well, I am new to the cast, but i just got a sweet deal online...at any rate.. all of myt controllers seem to have the same problem
the up and the right buttons (on the D-poad) seem to be a little less responsive than the down and left buttons... if this normal? Is the overall D-pad on the deamcast less responsive then other controllers?
and by less responsive i mean how quickly that section of the d-pad pops back up...now i can play games perfectly fine on it. its just a little different
oh
and I have opened up the controller and tried to turn that grey pad around a bit..and it doesnt change anythingno matter what configuration its in, the up and right are always slightly less resposvie
THANKS FOR THE HELP!

I think that in general the D-Pad on the DC is crappy, extremely in fact, it and the GC have terrible D-pads, I would try and get another controller for anything other than 3d games which use the analogue controller. I didnt even play a lot of my 2D games when I first got my DC untill i got my arcade stick - I found it THAT frustrating, I'd say you're controllers are fine, they are just the way that all DC d-pads are unfortunately...
hmm..this is all very strange.. im prolly just overthinking
but would you say that the d pads on these controllers are just as responsive as other controllers..for some reason i feel that the sega saturns dpad is much more reliable than this one...with the casts, i feel like i need to press down a certain way for it to work

yeh the Saturn pad is far superior, in fact some ppl believe it to be the ultimate pad for 2d fighters. I have a Saturn to DC convertor so when my friends who were used to playing SF on the SNES come over they can use that instead of moaning about the DC's d-pad :p
if you have a Saturn pad I would definitely get an adapter if I were you

i am probably going to purchase a total control plus, which is a ps2->DC thing.. (i already have a ps2 arcade stick so i wanna hold onto that for a while) and the primary reason why i purchased the DC was for marvel vs. capcom 2 and the fact that ps2's is waayyy too much money (i rather buy a system and a game than just a game
)
its just strange because when i took it all apart... all of the seperate grey buttons had similiar resistance and as i said, when i rotated it, it still produced the same results..
well whatever...it works i am able to pull off every move in soul caliber using it...and it doesnt stick i just feel that i need to find a sweet spot for it to react.... and there is a certain way which i can press the button down..and it wouldnt register at all
*EDIT*
and just to add, the 3d controller made by saturn is totally better than this,...why couldnt they have used that d pad?!?!

yea thats true..but it tightness a necessity?i guess it also depends how loose loose is..
and iusnt there a mod to make it slightly tighter
okay i pose another question....
is it possible for those of you with deamcast to push the dpad down without it registering (i can find a certain spot on the dpad that if i push it, it doesnt register unless i push a little harder)
now this would nott effect normal gameplay, i have to try to do it for it to happen... has anyone experienced this? And if so any suggestions for a remedy?
