"Press Start"
Re: "Press Start"
I know why the Xbox 360 does it for a fact... I'm currently developing some XNA Indie games and Microsoft requires a "Press Start" or "Press A" screen to test what controller index is being used! Microsoft requires their games to be playable by ANY controller attached to the system... so for the game to know which controller is being used... you have to press a button to tell it what controller to play with!

Re: "Press Start"
Ahh I get what you mean. Ok yes, that is kind of dumb when you have to his start, and then hit start again to begin or choose options or whatever and hit start. It makes more sense to just go up or down and hit start to get going instead of the first superfluous start.Jerkface Killah wrote: I should reiterate that I am in no way questioning the actual main menu with "Start Game" "Options" and the like. Just the screen that says "Press Start" before getting to that real menu. Thanks for the comments.
