Nah, we'd call that thread "Bad News for Quebec."Flake wrote:Good news for Canadians? Is the red white and blue picking up another star?

BREAKIN' is old crap?darthmunky wrote:Well Netflix launched in Canada last week. It's 7.99 a month with a one month free trial. Only there is a big problem... the selection sucks, it's all old crap. The only exception is Mad Men but it only has up to season 3.
LITTLE MONSTERS is old crap?
BEETLEJUICE is old crap?
CRITTERS is old crap?
Okay, Critters isn't great, but it's not crap.

Re: Good News For Canadians
Old movies that are actually crap, lol. Well there's obviously some good ones (Terminator 2, The Thing) but 97% of what's on it is not worth the 8$ a month. I mean they're mostly all direct to dvd movies that no one has heard of.Ack wrote:Wait, wait, what do you mean by "old crap?"darthmunky wrote:Well Netflix launched in Canada last week. None of those are on it... And I'd say Critters is the best out of those, lol.Luke wrote:BREAKIN' is old crap?darthmunky wrote:Well Netflix launched in Canada last week. Is there a Canadian specific Netflix site?darthmunky wrote: None of those are on it... And I'd say Critters is the best out of those, lol.

For some reason whenever I read the phrase 'Good News for Canadians!' I can't help but think of Professor Farnsworth explaining to the Canadians his latest plan to probably get them killed.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Yeah, Netflix.ca lol. And now when Canadians try to go to netflix.com they are automatically re-directed to the Canadian site. I'm probably canceling the membership as soon as the free trial ends if they don't get A LOT more titles.Luke wrote:Is there a Canadian specific Netflix site?darthmunky wrote: None of those are on it... What about your streaming downloads? Do you guys have access to all of the same online films we do?
I don't know if canceling is what you should do just yet. While Netflix started small, they managed to grow to have an incredible selection in the US, and I'm sure they have plans to do the same in Canada. But you did jump on right at the beginning from the sound of it. It's like joining an MMO right at the beginning, when nobody has any idea of how to do anything, the game's still buggy, and not quite so many people are playing just yet. Stick with it, and you'll find the game expanding nicely, or quit and come back later. But I'm sure there's got to be something that interests you on their site.

No. We are blocked from all online streaming services like Hulu. Hell were even blocked from using Cartoon Networks website. MTV as well!!Ack wrote:What about your streaming downloads? Do you guys have access to all of the same online films we do?
Canada has ancient content holding laws that need to be updated. The CRTC is a joke. This Canadian Netflix thing is a giant waste of time as the popular shows will NEVER make it on there because of the content holding laws we have. The big companies will glom onto them as long as possible and punish the rest.
Star Trek TNG isn't even available on the Canadian Netflix site. And that's how old?
Simpsons? Family Guy? Dexter? Fringe? Stargate? Battlestar Galactica (new)?
Nope. Not available in Canada.
To put it simply. Canadians get shafted all the time. I'll just stick to my torrents for TV and movies.

Yeah, once they get new media and update often, I'll sign up again.
