Its like you exclusively game on the iphone now. Also should play your games on the Wii, such a better Dpad for it.

It's easy to play iPhone games when I'm not home and stuff. I actually just bought Metroid: The Other M, so I may start playing my Wii again here soon. :)

I may try to play through Super Metroid first, as I've never beat it and I'm pretty sure that's considered a felony in most states.

Don't worry I have'nt finished it either, Im finally starting to knock off a few of those big 'never finished' games (Goldeneye for example) good feeling to finally get them hammered, however I tend to put current gen games ahead of retro on my list of stuff I wanna play.

I'd never played a Spyro game before, and having recently moved in with my girlfriend, I discovered I had access to a good chunk of the series, so I figured I'd give one a shot. From looking around online, I suppose this one wasn't very representative of the original series, instead marking a split that led into some alternate character revision with a much darker history and fantasy setting. At least that's what I've gathered from reading a few reviews.

Anyway, the game itself is incredibly easy, with practically no penalty for dying, extremely linear levels, and some powerful moves you can upgrade quickly. The game's not necessarily bad, though a few minor complaints I had did stem from problems: I noticed sound effects would occasionally not trigger during attacks, and I didn't like the choice of R2 as the super attack because I tended to hit it to sprint, wasting it. And the graphics weren't up to par with other PS2 games from the same time period (about 2006 from what I can tell).

Also, while I thought the voice actors did a solid job, I didn't like the little dragonfly Sparks, though this might be because he was voiced by David Spade and kept Spade's typical insult humor and modern verbage. It seemed out of place in a game with dragons fighting undead knights to suddenly hear him call the main character a dude and then insult how fat he is. Elijah Wood did the voice work for Spyro, which led me to make countless Lord of the Rings jokes, and Gary Oldman voiced one of the dragon guardians. I've enjoyed him in everything I've ever seen or heard him do.

While the game was easy, using a simple combo system that can be practically forgotten in lieu of the breath weapons later on, it placed a heavy emphasis on me beating the tar out of hordes of enemies, which I was bugged by because it made the combat feel stale quickly. At multiple points I'd find myself wondering if I had entered a room with infinite enemies, only to eventually defeat them all (infinite enemies only happens once in the game). I've heard the other Spyros focus on combat a lot less, so I'll see about giving another one a try at some point.

My final impression of the game is that it would be great for those who don't have a lot of experience with games or happen to be pretty young. The game's relative ease makes it little more than an afternoon diversion for folks who have been playing games for much of their lives. But as an introductory title, it's not a bad choice.

I grew up playing the spyro games and i cant stand the newer ones. Spyro is one of the main games that got me into gaming, and the newer ones have just been a disappointment. Seriously, the first 3 on ps1 (and maybe the gba ones, they arent bad) are the only ones worth your time. Of course playing them now is incredibly easy. my sister can beat the first one is less than 5 hours (that includes getting all the gems, dragons, eggs, etc)

I did a thing where I would play the first random game I picked. I did this and picked up Metal of Honor Frontline, I got to the last stage but couldn't beat it so i moved on to Rising Sun which was easy in comparason.

I finally got around to beating Super Metroid for the first time ever. Sacrilege, I know. The game was excellent, and I can see why it gets all of the praise that it does. Zero Mission and Fusion are just as good IMO. The game was pretty tough in some spots, like the boss fights with Draygon and Ridley for example. I did figure out some interesting ways to defeat both of them, both by accident, but they were so unique that it helped to make the game that much more memorable for me.

Also, minor spoiler alert here, but I did manage to get lost on the way out of Zebes at the end, and I saved some of the local wildlife from imminent doom because of it. Lucky for them. :)

AvP is arguably the best beat-em-up/run-n-gun hybrid ever made, and probably the best 2D arcade game Capcom ever made that wasn't Street Fighter. A complete blast. This was my first time playing it with an arcade stick, and it made a nice difference.

Halo: Reach is my new favorite entry in the series (previously Halo 2 was my favorite). The game keeps getting better as it goes, offers a fair but challenging level of difficulty (I beat it on Heroic), and ends up telling a fairly compelling story. It isn't the best console shooter I've played this year, but it is easily the best Halo game.

Now I'm ready for a month-o-horror games!
