Vintage reviews

Post by Hatta »

I was just kind of clicking around and I came upon this archive of GameBytes. 4 issues of an ezine from 1994, one of my favorite years in gaming. Always nice to read old stuff and remember what it was like back then.

Edit: fixed the link!

1994 was an unstoppable year for gaming. Super Metroid? Secret of Mana? Castlevania Bloodlines? Hell yes.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Don't forget the bit wars. The PS1 and the Saturn both came out. :P
Going through deleting inactive accounts of mine as a security precaution. No hard feelings, but admins, if it is possible to delete this account, please do so. Thanks in advance!

And the 3DO and Jaguar! It's just amazing looking at the quality of the games these guys were reviewing. Too bad there aren't more issues archived.

Mana was '93 (at least in Japan and NA). Nevertheless, Super Metroid and Final Fantasy 6 alone make '94 one of the best years for gaming. On top of that, Mega Man X, Doom 2, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Warcraft, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles... The list goes on.
