Re: another metroid II post - you guys heard about this remake?
i just quickly glanced at the website. but is this an independent project? how will it be released?
i am not a really a fan of remakes because most of the time it is just a visual update. but, this could be good. metroid II on the gameboy was a bitch to navigate through due to the lack of colors and every room looking pretty much the same.

if you took a shit, please put it back

I have been following it for about a year now. I am really excited for it! Metroid 2 is a really good game that with some modern Metroid features could become a great game.

I honestly think II is great, and really the only thing I would want added is a map.

Metroid II has always been the black sheep of the series to me. The sprite for Samus was ludicrously too big for the Gameboy screen, the music was a major, major downgrade from the FDS/NES original, and all the flaws from the original were still present in that you still had no idea what the hell to do or where to go.
It's been my belief that Metroid 2 needs a remake quite badly, as does Zelda II and Castlevania 2.

Why not just remake all of the NES metroidvanias while we're at it. A Milon's Secret Castle remake wouldn't be too bad at all.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:Metroid II has always been the black sheep of the series to me. wow. Metroid II has always been one of my favorites. I remember getting it when it came out and spending a lot of time with it. I've never had the complaints that most people tend to have with it.Satoshi_Matrix wrote:Metroid II has always been the black sheep of the series to me. And I really couldn't see a point in remaking Zelda II or Castlevania 2. They are what they are. I personally love Zelda II as well, which I know isn't a popular opinion. But...
