I just won a charcoal black Neo Geo pocket color in an auction along with a copy of Pac-man and Biomotor Unitron. It's awesome, and I can't wait to try out some fighting games on this thing.

This.

I won a huge lot of games, most of them fighters, and they are all great. That little joystick is perfect for pulling off combos.

I got my NGPC a few months ago from craigslist. It came with Sonic Pocket Adventure and since then I've gotten Metal Slug 1st Mission and SNK vs Capcom MotM is on its way to me from Amazon. Would you believe I found a complete copy of it for 20 bucks?

If any peeps are in Philly and have NGPCs we need to meet up and throw down. I'm ordering a link cable soon and I wanna USE it.

My friend is going to sell his to me with a few games for $10. I'm just waiting for him to pick it up from his parents' house. I used to play his back when we were in middle school. The thing is awesome.

I have to say, I have never enjoyed playing a handheld quite like I have the NGPC. I am still collecting games for it, and am still looking for the really rare games to give my collection some oomph. Any new NGPC fans out there?

It looks like this guy might be working on a DIY NGPC flash cart.

This would be a neat project to do if anything ever comes of it. He has done GameGear & Gameboy in the past.

Have you picked up a complete copy of Pac-Man? I've been trying to track one down for a while, because they (apparently) came with a restrictor for the stick to make it a proper 4-way so it's more authentic, but I've never actually seen the restrictor, so I have no idea what it looks like, or if it even exists. Have you heard anything about this?

Yes! I just picked one up last month, and I've been having so much fun with it! It's got an amazing combination of fun-factor, insane battery life, and really quality games, it's the most fun I've had with a handheld since my childhood GB Pocket! So far I've picked up:

Gal's Fighters
Sonic Pocket Adventure
SNK vs. Capcom MotM
Puzzle Bobble Pocket
Cotton

I've really been enjoying all of them! Puzzle Bobble's a great game to pull out when you've got a few minutes to kill, and between the puzzle mode, endless mode, and vs. com mode it stays fresh for a long time. Sonic I haven't played as much since I just played through the Genesis Sonic 2 pretty recently, but it's a fun game. For the fighters, SNK vs. Capcom is fantastic, and I love all the unlockables (working on getting BB Hood!), but I really like Gals Fighters too. It feels so much faster & smoother after playing SvC, and the storyline's easier to play through in short bursts, so it makes a good "inbetween things" game. It's also got great tunes! I just got Cotton yesterday and I'm SO happy I found it; it really is a great port. I've never played the TG16 version, just the Saturn & Dreamcast sequels, but this is an awesome shooter. It's challenging but not cheap (haven't beat it yet but I'm getting closer each time), the controls are spot on, and it's got a whole lot of the personality & atmosphere that makes the Cotton games so fun. Just wish the NGPC had a turbo mode!
