Dreamcast Model 0 Questions

Post by philipofmacedon »

Hey guys,

I found a 20 dollar dreamcast on craigslist. The seller claims that it is a model 0. Does anyone else have experience with this model? It's the launch one right?

I already have a model 1 that burns CD-Rs but I was thinking about picking up a second. Would I be better off to look for another model 1? Is the model 0 less reliable? Is the difference between these two versions totally irrelevant?

I know from our previous thread here that the model 2s are antipiracy. Thanks guys.

ummm... no one ever came to a clear decission here in this forum on this topic.

I still stand by my statement I said in that thread; I've heard the rumor since before the rev. 2 model came out, I've yet to today meet or hear of anyone who actually had issues. And I HAVE heard of people being able to play games on the rev. 2

I've been hanging out on Sega related gaming forums since 1999.

as for rev. 0, that is a first release revision. Early model/near launch. As long as they've taken care of it, it should be fine. And you as well should take care of it. just because it's small don't mean you need to carry it everywhere or stick in tiny unventilated places.

I will say though, I used my DC in my tractor trailer for 2 years. Bouncing and banging all about over the shitty streets of New York City. Still works perfectly fine today.

Sorry man, that's just how I roll. My Dreamcast and I are tight. We go everywhere together.
