I did add the "unless" to the clause!

I found that one of the games that was ruined because of long loading times. If you can get by that, it is one of the best 2D fighters ever made.

Metal Slug is actually affordable on the Neo CD, which is kind of nice. I should be between $30-100 I think. Pretty wide range, but at least it's attainable. Also get Twinkle Star Sprites if you can find it for a good price.

I definitely recommend the Metal Slugs. I just figured not mention them because it should be assumed, and every one else would mention them anyway.

I'm surprised Sengoku wasn't mentioned. That game is both great and ridiculous.

Neo Geo CD is great.. most of the non-fighters have reasonable loading times. I recommend:

Windjammers (my favorite 2 player game, definitely must play with a friend though)
Baseball Stars 2 (also a blast 2 player)
Super Baseball 2020
Dunk Dreams
Burning Fight (decent Streets of Rage clone)
Pulstar (super hard though)
Last Resort
League Bowling
Metal Slug 1 and 2
Ghost Pilots
Sonic Wings
Magician Lord

If you're patient with loading then try these fighters:
Last Blade 1 & 2 (loading is much better if you play vs mode instead of story and disable cut scenes and intros in options)
Samurai Shodown II, and IV
Art of Fighting 3
King of Fighters 95, 98 and 99

I have a few of the Fatal Fury (Fatal Fury Special, Real Bout..) games in the series and just never could get into them.. I know some people really enjoy them though. I do need to get Mark of the Wolves though still.

As long as it isn't one of the later Fighers your load times are reasonable. e.g. Last Blade , KoF99. I happen to have both, and they play well but the load times are long.

Everything else is entirely playable.

Metal Slugs
Crossed Swords
SS2
Magical Drop 2 ( <3 <3 <3)
Aero Fighters.

if it's a great game on neo, it is prolly a great game on the CD.
