Jogging with a laptop?

Post by ieatramen »

So I'm considering jogging to work, but I would need to take my 13" macbook pro with me. If it's powered off, should I have any concerns about internal damage? Any input would be appreciated!

You might drop it, or it might get stolen, but other than that....not really. The only part that can be damaged from movement is the hard drive, and that is if it's turned on. If it's turned off there's no risk other than dropping it.

I read the thread title and I thought you were going to jog while using a laptop.

But, nah, as long as it's off and the harddrive isn't moving you should be fine.

Hard Drive heads/needles are parked off to the side and locked off when powered down. Unless you take a hammer to it you'll be fine.
