Re: Shenmue III !!!!!

I'll be honest, I can't get into Shenmue on Dreamcast, but I really want to... I DO, however, think that a Shenmue game made today would be easier to get into. The game was almost ahead of its time, and could benefit from current gen technology.

There, now its about Shenmue III. :)

personally i have opted to playing yakuza as somewhat of substitution. i realize that they are mostly nothing a like, but i still think the game has a feeling of shenmue.

I don't feel like changing the title.
Yes, this thread is about Shenmue III, albeit not directly.

I like downloadable content. I like Sonic Adventure. I own it on the DC. The only consoles I have hooked up currently are a US 60GB PS3, a JP PS2 and a JP Wii. I happily downloaded Sonic Adventure on PSN as I enjoy it and this was the easiest way for me to play it (aside from importing the GC version or changing the region on the Wii and hunting DX down on the GC). I played through the first stage and it is just fine as far as I'm concerned. For those who are saying "it's a bad port", you are being picky. It plays just how I remember it, despite being based off the PC version instead of the DC. The differences are only apparent if you are directly comparing the two or if you played the DC version to death and remember every little detail. Do you play games to enjoy them or to nitpick?

Here's to Sega releasing Shenmue I and II online! And, not only that, but if they do sell well you just never know what will happen. Shenmue III is not impossible.

On a side note, Sega should not release games that have already had ports to other consoles. Sonic Adventure already received an updated port on the GC, and Crazy Taxi has ports on the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, GBA, and PSP! Yes, they're great games, but we've seen enough of them!

Actually I would really like a port of Crazy Taxi on XBLA especially if it had online leaderboards. Sonic Adventure doesn't need to be ported to every platform under the sun but certain arcade type games (of which a large percentage of games on the Dreamcast comprise of) would work well on PSN/XBLA.

Regarding this topic, It's not relevant to the discussion. Buying Sonic Adventure simply won't instantly mean that Sega are going to make Shenmue III. Why would it? It simply means that they'll port more DC games to modern platforms. If you're very lucky they'll port Shenmue but I can't see it to be honest. Only then would millions of sales of Shenmue on XBLA/PSN turn into the possbility of Shenmue III coming out. Even then it's a slim chance at best.

Sega´s F355! this game had onine play on the DC, so do that for the PS3
But that will never happen, since it would show GT5 what simulation really is........
Or what about Puyo Puyo Fever?

There are at least two Puyo-Puyo games on the Wii. Still, it would be great to have a Puyo-Puyo game on PSN/XBLA to play online. It would be an awesome fit next to Puzzle Fighter.

I downloaded it on PSN and still want Shenmue III but I would agree with Niode that the chances are slim of it releasing. I will keep hope alive nonetheless. 8)

Well, if Sega's not doing it because they don't think it's profitable, there's a chance that if this is profitable they'll realize Shenmue III will be.
