Can some one please tell me the name of this? I also ask that if some one does know the name of this please tell me where I can get one as well.
An AV switch? There are a ton of names for the same thing. Google is your friend. Maybe others here can suggest a favourite brand.
I have two, both generic (non gaming-specific) ones that I bought from K-Mart. They were cheap as hell there. One is an RCA and needs to be plugged into an outlet because... well I don't remember why, I think because it is for plugging red, white, and yellow cabled devices into a coaxial TV. That is the most technologically illiterate statement I have ever heard and I said it!. The other is also from K-Mart, but I am not sure of the brand. It does not need to plug into an outlet because it is strictly to turn one red, white, yellow cable into 4. I use this one in conjunction with the other so that I can hook up 7 systems by plugging the latter box into number 4 section of the former box. It is all some sort of magic I can't quite explain.
If you are piping the sound through a stereo system you can just send the audio to the tuner inputs and select the sound that way and use a regular 'composite' switch and plug the RGB into the RWY plugs since they're all just RCA Plugs anyway.

can i get one that doesn't?
I am looking for a component one
My one that does not use electricity must be used to plug multiple red, white, and yellows into a r,w,y TV. In other words it is just a splitter or whatever. I think if you want to convert coaxial to RWY than you need the type that plugs in. At least that's what I am stuck with.
I have an awesome old one that has little tabs for "Dreamcast", "N64", "Playstation", and "Other". Unforunately I lost the rest of them and I can't remember what they were. I think there may have been a saturn one.
