Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Only worked a half day today because a transformer blew and I had no power for a few hours. So I went out while was still open which is rare during the week for me.
I picked this up figuring someone here might want it. It is a legit import disc. There are some scuffs on the bottom, but it looks like it will play ok. I'll find out in a bit.

Great lucky find on this awesome keyboard. Just a keyboard you say? Oh no! This is one of the last good keyboards offered with off the shelf computers. Unless you buy a super specialized keyboard, you've got a crappy rubber dome and membrane keyboard. This one has actual mechanical switches for each key plus is has the 'correct' enter, backspace, and backslash. Think of it like using a shitty cheap ass pad versus a good joystick with microswitches in it. I have two light gray Dell ones, but I came across a black one at Goodwill, so now I have one that matches my PC. Plus this keyboard is worth a lot more than the $4 I paid for it.

More info about these keyboards here where they usually sell for $40+ when they have some in stock. http://www.clickykeyboards.com/index.cf ... tcat/20188

The Goodwill electronics super store here in town has a couple of baskets of TI99 games. I will take some pictures and notes next time I get down there. That may be awhile, however.dsheinem wrote:The entire TI99/4A bundle was only $25! It would cost more than that to ship the thing as it is quite heavy, but to find one CIB in amazing condition (complete with original styrofoam, cords, manuals, etc.) made my day. I now need to track down Parsec and a few other carts for the system - anyone looking to part with some?It was a huge nostalgia find as it was the very first computer/console I had growing up, and some of the carts were the same ones I fondly remember from my earliest childhood. Big nostalgia FTW.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I forgot the sealed Xbox controller extension from Goodwill as well. I have one controller that was missing the breakaway, so problem solved. It's also dark green which is a plus for me.

A Nero disc scan of the Sonic Team CD came back all green, so it is all good.

So true! The old adage don't make them like they used to. I like the older solid keyboards myself. Picked up two IBM keyboards at the swap meet for five bucks each. Yes its ugly beige, but a very solid feel on every key press and very Retro, these used to be everywhere. PS2 connector can be easily adapted to USB if desired. Model number is KB-8923.Hobie-wan wrote:Great lucky find on this awesome keyboard. Just a keyboard you say? Oh no! This is one of the last good keyboards offered with off the shelf computers. You have to get Tunnels of Doom. If you can find the cassette, or disc version (you of course need the cartridge). We used to load the game via cassette; interesting to actually HEAR the information being loaded into the machine....dsheinem wrote:For now the plan is to keep it all. Maybe I'll take requests before the Spring show. Figured i would share my haul from Toomanygames con as well.

I got saga frontier 2 for $10, and Tactics for the same price. for the Chocobo games i got both of those for $15 each. the only big problem is that Chocobo's dungeon 2 doesn't have the manual. it's just a print out of the game. also the disk was a rental so it's got security stickers on it.

i was lucky on these. originally they were going for separate prices (bonk was $10 and adventure island went for $25 (due to it still being wrapped). I got a deal of $25 for both.

got this from dsheinem for helping out with the tournament for the live panel. thanks again dsheinem.

My personal favorite find of the day was this beauty. This set was practically brand new and barely even touched. everything including the box was in perfect condition. and the best part of it all? i got it for $10 without even having to haggle.

and finally the fatal fury hat that was free. I decided not to open it atm.
edit: sorry for the big pics. for some reason photobucket doesn't was to see that the pics are medium sized.
