Hi,
I have one of these relatively cheap Easycap capture cards that connects to the PC on USB and on the other side has S-video and composite inputs. My intent with this is to be able to connect my Saturn and N64 to my PC screen as I won't be having a TV for a while, and the console cables I have typically connect to the TV side on a SCART male plug. But of course now that I have it I would like to make the occasional capture and record some stuff.
I would like advice on whether I should track down console to S-video cables for each console (do they even exist?) or should I just get a SCART to S-video adapter (or does that stand to lose a lot of quality)?
Excuse my noobishness, I actually googled some stuff before completing this post.
Ivo.
Scart to S-Video without going through composite?
Re: Scart to S-Video without going through composite?
Yes, S-video cables for both consoles exist. RGB to S-video converters also exist, but they're more expensive. Go for the cables unless you have other RGB consoles (e.g. Genesis).
