What was the last movie you've seen?
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
The last movie I saw was The Last Exorcism. There were no meaningful scares and it wasn't nearly disturbing enough. The documentary format didn't hurt the film but it certainly didn't help it rise above mediocrity. Don't bother.
I watched Machete before that and it was a blast! Hilarious, gruesome, sexy, and its heart was in the right place politically as well. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out.

Two years and 315 pages of posts, and you just ruined the thread. Thanks a lot.
The above is mostly a joke, in case anyone is wondering

Hung out with some friends yesterday, and we spent pretty much the whole time watching stuff.
Batman: Under the Red Hood - Incredible. Any Batman fan owes it to themselves to watch this, it was just amazing.
Dead Leaves - Absolute insanity. I had watched it before, of course, and it didn't seem as good the second time around. Oh well, still a bit of fun.
Now and Then, Here and There - Not a movie, but we actually managed to watch the whole series in one sitting. Pretty amazing, definitely one of my top anime series now. Poor Sara...

THANK YOU!!!
Nice to see someone else give this movie its props around here. As far as animated features go, I'd say it's the best Batman movie. Even better than Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker. In fact, I think it takes what they were trying to do in Return of the Joker to the next level

Zero Effect. Awesome movie, parodies a bunch of genres and gets away with it triumphant albeit in a humble manner.

The Other Guys
Absolutely hilarious film. If you liked Step Brothers, this will be right up your street, Will Ferrell is brilliant as usual, Mark Wahlberg was great too though, love his shouting constantly proper mocks his own style of acting. Samuel L Jackson and The Rock are awesome too, most fun I have had at the cinema in a LONG time.

yep. Last Exorcism was a let-down. Machete rules!

[REC]: LOVED this movie! I really liked quarantine and found the arguments about how the original foreign version is better blah blah to be weird because aren't they by the same writers or something. I really don't know, but I liked this... better than the remake. This was identical to Quarantine except for the end (in my opinion, obviously there were differences). It was scarier, as is always the case for me, because it was subtitled. For some reason this always makes it scarier for me because it makes me think more and pay attention more. I am more easily surprised. This has nothing to do with the foreign movies are more scary than non-foreign movies argument, which I don't care about. I just find if you are reading, something jumping out or something scary happening takes me by surprise more effectively.
SPOILERS, MAYBE
Anyhoo. The main reason I liked this more is because the ending just rocked. I LOVED the weirdo Catholic exorcism gone wrong thing. Not that I think hell or demons had anything to do with it - could have been that or could have been some Christian nut locking some chick who had the virus up until she turned all skinny and weird. I think this chick was freaky. Still scares me a little just remembering her. I don't remember if she was there or was there as vividly in Quarantine.
END QUARANTINE... I MEAN SPOILERS
Great film. Can't wait to see the sequel although I hope it is not related to the first, just another story of a weird virus and quarantined people.

T2: Judgment Day Skynet Edition. Awesome. Not a perfect transfer, but it's miles better than the 1997 DVD. Almost as exciting as first watching it in 1991, now with more pixels.
