Sega Mega CD on Wii
Sega Mega CD on Wii
Seriously, why have their been no Sega CD games released on the VC or why does Genesis Plus have no Sega CD (or 32X support)? It makes me a sad panda...

Re: Sega Mega CD on Wii
But 32x games can't be THAT big, probably not much bigger (if at all) than Genesis games. And VC already has at least 1 CD based game, Casltevania Rondo of Blood. Not sure if there's any more, that's the only one I know of.
Maybe it's because they haven't been able to properly emulate 32x or Sega CD games on the Wii yet, and they don't wanna release anything that's buggy?

Re: Sega Mega CD on Wii
I second this. Though I realize how few amazing titles are on the Sega CD, its still one of my favorite systems. If they had Sega CD titles on VC I'd buy so many.
Re: Sega Mega CD on Wii
There are quite a few Turbo-CD/PC Engine CD games on there. Dracula X, Lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, CD Denjin, Ys I&II, and a bunch more. They just compress the music. It is definitely not size limits.dsheinem wrote:size limits?Breetai wrote:Seriously, why have their been no Sega CD games released on the VC or why does Genesis Plus have no Sega CD (or 32X support)? I'm thinking they are just lazy. In other words, they probably don't think the amount of games the Sega CD/Mega CD would generate is worth the effort. Considering that most of the decisions come from the homeland of Japan, and that the Mega CD completely flopped there along with the Mega Drive, maybe they don't project high enough sales to warrant the effort to get Mega CD games running on the Wii? Just a guess. Looking at how many Master System and MSX games they bothered to release, I think it's a good guess.

Re: Sega Mega CD on Wii
Are you talking about the virtual console? That's been all but dead for the longest time. It seems like Nintendo's pretty much abadoned the VC. We get what? one game a month now? I wouldn't get your hopes up on seeing any particular title on it soon, or ever even.
As for emulation, that's a good question. The Xbox can emulate Sega CD quite well, even going as far as to even run real Sega CD discs. What's up with the Wii?

Either or. VC or emulation (preferably the latter).Satoshi_Matrix wrote:Are you talking about the virtual console?
What is up with the Wii? That is the question! It can play Turbo CDs (although I'd like it on Hu-Go, as I prefer it over WiiEngine). I just wish I'd hear something about Sega CD support in the works. As for emulation, that's a good question. Re: Sega Mega CD on Wii
Ive been wishing for Lunar to be put on the VC... but I wonder if it's not there because Working Designs (the company that did the translation) is no longer.
Re: Sega Mega CD on Wii
I think they need to get the Sega CD on there first. After reading about Nintendo Japan's lack of interest on the VC for the non-Japanese market, well... they suck. If this is Nintendo trying to encourage paying for retro games instead of emulating, they fail. They had a great start... but, they just seemed to quit.SpaceBooger wrote:Ive been wishing for Lunar to be put on the VC... but I wonder if it's not there because Working Designs (the company that did the translation) is no longer.
