The downside is that this game REQUIRES the headset to play the game and the two were never packaged together which makes no sense.
just looked into LifeLine for the PS2, it looks freaking awesome! I think that you can use any usb head set with the game.

I really appreciate the offer fastbilly1! a quick ebay search looks like the mic isn't too hard to pickup so I am probably ok.

after looking at the odama mic, I wonder, how in the world do you use that thing? I just figured it would be something like the seaman mic, a little nub that sticks up, but instead it is has a long cord and looks like your supposed to hold it, strange.

I know the xbox had some 3rd party fishing controllers also, if I ever ran across one, for any system I would grab it up.

I also have the DC keyboard but don't yet have Typing of the Dead, do you need DC mouse for TotD? what is the DC mouse used for? I also have the Genesis Mega Mouse boxed with the mouse pad, have yet to use it =)

after my last post in this thread I went by a local game store and got the PS2 eyetoy for $5 heh.
just need to get some games for it now. I wish EyeToy: Kinetic Combat had gotten a US release =)

I have a Dreamcast mouse and have yet to find a use for it. Probably more used for surfing the 'net. It isn't needed for ToTD.

And it will probably be the only time in your life you'll be able to tell a woman (character) what to do and have her actually do it! ;)

I always loved the idea of light guns, although for many years I never actually owned one. Recently I picked up House of the Dead 2 with a gun for the Dreamcast, get it home and find that my tv has broken. The repair man tells me that it's 'beyond economical repair', so I have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Unfortunately I'd spoken previously with the good lady about replacing this tv with an LCD, so the gun doesn't work with it, AND I've still yet to be able to play with it.

The 3d glasses for SMS were forward thinking (as Sega has always been), and do simulate 3D rather well. I still haven't been able to play House of the Dead 2 w/o being frustrated by the crappy shot recognition yet. But the aforementioned DC fishing controller is my favorite.

Is the room less than brightly lit? Is the brightness on the TV turned up? These guns can have trouble reading correctly if the room lighting is really bright or if the brightness and contrast on the TV are turned down. It also helps to sit directly in front of the TV set and not be aiming in from an angle.

Also, with the Dreamcast there are some pretty crappy guns out there. The Interact Starfire Blaster is the best, the Mad Catz Dreamblaster doesn't work worth a poo.

my local gamestop(s) has/have the xbox fishing rods all the time. Just rummage through all the random used controllers for the xbox (1, not 360).

The DC mouse is helpful if you're playing something like quake with your dc keyboard. Other than that, I don't know many that use the keyboard controls and or use the mouse for much...

I've been thinking about getting a dc mic and seaman/alienfront...I've also been meaning to get a usb mic for ps2 to smacktalk little kids when I get online...
